I like how 343i is experimenting with the Halo Franchise and there is nothing wrong with conforming to current FPS trends.
To all the fans that want that classic halo experience, I can assure you that there will be multiple playlists, one with no “perks”, no armor abilities, no instant respawn, etc.
There is nothing wrong with experimenting with a game franchise… If people just kept repeating new stuff over and over, then we’d still be making variants of pong and asteroids…
If you like H3 so much then just go play that instead. I want H4 to be something new and I am glad it will be.
I was STOKED when I read the article.
I’m afraid that simply playing Halo 3 is no longer a viable option for Halo 3 fans. There is no community left there and the playlists have minimal population.
After Reach, much of the community walked away from Halo only to come back with high hopes for Halo 4. Needless to say, these changes are liked by very few on the forums. In fact, you’re the first person I have seen to like them.
I understand what you mean when you say that Halo should change and that we should welcome change. But for me, personally, Halo 4 sets the tone for the upcoming trilogy and if I don’t like what it has to say then I am not going to partake in it.
This is not another empty threat. If I do not like what I see then I will not purchase the game. My tradition of buying Legendary Editions will die off and I’ll find another game to be a fan of.
But it is crucial that the community wait for things to be confirmed or denied. We do not know if this stuff is real quite yet. I’d love for it to be one giant joke because, to be honest, it sounds like one.
Spartan Points… CoD points.
Spartan Ops… Spec Ops.
That’s a JOKE if it’s real.
Here’s to hoping…
I like that you voiced your opinion, though I hope you brought your flamesuit.
Its a bit crazy down here, =P
I can’t help but notice your thread doesn’t mention CoD points or spec ops (yes, I went there). Have you not seen the new info by any chance?
This article you speak of… where can i find it?

I can PM you scans of the magazine if you’d like.

I’d like the scans or links please. PM me.
Sure 343 must keep doing this weird experiments, I mean why not mix Halo with GTA, It also would be awesome if you could collect rings to keep yourself alive, and it will be really cool if your Spartan could skateboard around a castle looking for the princess.
Sigh, I guess I must wait until Halo 2 Anniversary comes out.
The problem with the new gameplay is when you try to build a competitive game (classic halo) off a casual game (Reach) it doesn’t work.
It works the other way around where you build a casual experience off a competitive one.
If these rumors are true (please God no) then Halo 4 will struggle to be a competitive game and MLG will ditch it, half the fans in Reach will drop off and you can say Halo will die. You can argue that the CoD fanbase will pick it up but they prove to leave a game soon after a year or so.
HALO WILL DIE IF YOU MAKE IT LIKE COD. That is a fact.
Change is totally great…but they’re changing it in a very specific direction tailored to the casual cod loving crowd. Personally I’d like for them to add more to cosmetic customization while keeping the core gameplay balanced and simple.
Also if anyone has the scans, PM plz.
Can you send me the scans as well.
You and 2 other people in the entire universe
Somethings i like, somethings i dont.
X-ray is kinda wierd and so is “spartan points”
I do like “spartan ops” tho, kinda cool with some cinematic mission.
And lots of other stuff i like, but i wont name them all.
Don’t worry, halo 4 is far from complete. There is still a lot of time before the game is released.Chances are that if this new system receives a negative response, they will change it.

they are probably way to far into development to just change something this big and have it release on time
If the spartan points system stays. Then I can already see halo fans waiting outside 343i with pitch forks and torches.

I’ve just ordered a battering ram off of Amazon.
I just think its hilarious how every time I am stoked for a game, or really like a game. It is DESTROYED by the critics. I loved reach! But all the hardcore Halo Fans hated on it for the stupidest reasons. Now it is going to happen with Halo 4.
