I think this is something that’s been missing from Halo, and is perhaps the best “innovation” 343 made with Infinite. Being able to test out game mechanics on bots, having a shooting gallery to test all the weapons (I finally got 3 stars with everything), and even the tutorial mode option are all great things.
Credit where it’s due, I think 343 did a great job with this part of the game.
It would be cool if there was an “academy” unlock for completing a certain number of starts across guns…
I expected there to at least be some achievements but there weren’t.
Battlefield 4 had the testing range where you could practice with all vehicles, planes and helicopters as well as all weapons.
There is going to be forge for this, I could see something like a testing range being made by community members. The leaks are already insane.
Yeahno the Academy is fantastic and solid for warm-ups too.
Academy is great. There is certainly good opportunity for improvements (leader boards, unlocks, an actual platform for the MP narrative stuff), but it is a great new addition.
Whenever my daughter wants to play she spools up training mode to have some fun. In the past she would jump into matchmaking and get totally wrecked because she barely knows how to control the character. Now I can select super easy difficulty and make her deathless so she can actually learn how to play and have fun doing it.
