I like Spartan Agryna

It’s a bad look for 343 to abandon all of their story threads. Given their track record with unlikeable Spartan Commanders who is to say they wouldn’t give Agryna the same treatment as Palmer. I already think it’s weird that 343 preemptively planned to remove her lines from BTB for Jeff Steitzer. It’s almost like they knew fans wouldn’t take well to her personality.

Palmer never felt like a good person to me, at times she felt cruel, lacking empathy. But her disturbing personality traits were never really addressed or explained in any stories, nor did she have any character development over time which made it feel like they were trying to portray her as a perfect hero or something, but it never felt genuine to me.

I neither like or dislike Agryna yet. I just find her a bit boring so far.

I find her insanely boring and stupid looking, especially in the Season 2 + event videos. She looks like someone’s peppersprayed her.

While Palmer was a bit monotonous, I liked her voice much more.

I feel like people are like this.

Spartan Agryna is too nice while Palmer is too mean.

Palmer is way too disrespectful while Agryna doesn’t feel grounded. She’s like super nice, which I can appreciate, but she’s lacking something. It’s like she’s not grasping the situation at hand. A Banished crusier shows up and she immediately goes “Lone Wolves.”

Like I don’t get that.

Spartan Catherine-B320, one love!

I dont like Palmer nor Agryna

Palmer was browbeating and domineering, especially towards chief. She had an unlikeable air of smugness to her. However, unlike Agryna, she had some level of weight in the Halo Universe (H5, H4 and mobile games) and moved the plot.

But back to the point:

Argyna just doesnt do anything. She’s not integral to the plot of Halo Infinite. She’s just a stand-in, an empty vessel to serve as commander in a minimally explored narrative who’s sole purpose is to canonize multiplayer. They could have put ANYONE integral to Halo in her place and it would work better. Have Chief, The Weapon, Pilot, Laskey, etc. lead the multiplayer narrative. The “chief is missing” narrative doesnt satisfy either; seems like a lazy excuse to put unlikeable, generic characters in. There are NO multiplayer cannon characters worth giving a damn about- not Argyna, not the Lone Wolves, no notable marines, and not even the player’s spartan (UNLIKE Reach and H4s player stand-ins [you were canonized as noble six or involved in Spartan Ops])

I have some issues with the dialogue and the way it’s delivered, but not with the character. I think Agryna could be a pretty good character if they give the actress a bit of a pretty script and I’m not going to say the actress isn’t doing a good job with delivering lines because sometimes it’s they’re just doing what they’re told, but whatever is causing some of her lines to sound off needs to be fixed. The best example of this is the Interference outro and the shooting range portion of the tutorial.

Wait. When did they say they are removing her lines?

Good if true

They said this before the game’s official release.

I really liked her intro cinematic, it was both cool and made me care about her as a charcter and why she’s there (especially liked theilovebees throwback).

^100% in the beginning of the academy tutorial (in-engine cutscene). Overall tho as long as she never says “covies” she will remain a million times better than Palmer. I just hope Palmer doesn’t return in campaign, I always found her really irritating.

I like Agryna. Maybe too nice, but I can feel more of a camaraderie connection to her than I do Palmer who tended to be so dismissive and disrespectful, especially to Marines.

“I know you’re not a Spartan! Spartans shoot straight!”
“Once again, Spartans do in 24 minutes what Marines can’t do in 24 hours”

That’s not…yeah. Even when trying to think of Keyes and Johnson and trying to imagine them saying it and thinking it’s more “acceptable” - that just doesn’t work.

Johnson- “You hit, Marine? THEN LISTEN UP!”
Keyes- “Stow the bellyaching, soldier. Remember, you’re a leatherneck!”

Keyes and Johnson both try to be motivational without putting down their comrades. Palmer…just doesn’t do that. People say that’s what makes her more memorable than Agryna but…that’s not a good thing considering how most people probably remember her.

Agryna, while maybe too nice, still feels like part of the group - part of “the boys” so to speak - while Palmer just feels like she has to be above everyone and remind everyone else that she’s beneath them. I’ll take Agryna way more than Palmer.

I see.

The OG announcer should be the default announcer

They could pull a Halo 5 and add other announcer options for the minority of players who like Angryana while defaulting Jeff

Personally I can’t stand her,

She talks down to you like you have the intelligence of a Toddler at daycare,
Its all super fricking patronizing,

“good job marine, you a super soldier, that’s fantastic and great, you ARE the best humanity has to offer! yeah!”

Like… guys…
We’re not children, and you’re suppose to be my CO, not my mom.

I do not need to be coddled,
I’m here to murder aliens, not get a gold star on my weekly behavior report.

For as much of a B palmer is, her rudeness is fitting.
She’s a person with some wild complexes brought on by, you know.
THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE BEING AT RISK OF AI DOMINATION.

You may not like her but, guys… Gritty super soldier in charge of the lives of a ton of people.
If she doesn’t get you in shape, you we’re a waste of UNSC funds.

I don’t get why people are so butthurt about her character,
I also don’t get why people needed this coddling mother figure and think its fantastic.
Is this REALLY what the Halo fanbase has become? Daycare Attendees?

I like her more than Palmer, especially after experiencing Spartan Ops Palmer. Gosh the tone of her voice annoys the living hell out of me. The condescending, dismissing tone, sounding extremely lazy about the mission at hand. Way, way too much banter for banter’s sake when I’m out here getting pegged by Knights and Watchers. But apparently the Palmer fans on Reddit disagree with me :person_shrugging:

Agryna is more patronizing, and I get that some people don’t like that, but I can stand her better than I can stand Palmer. Still would have preferred Jun to be the Spartan Commander for the academy though.

The only thing I like about her is her armor, not sure why people hate it, its clean. Really clean, hoping its pieces come to Mk VII eventually.

Her personality is meh, her interactions (if you can even call it that) with the player are meh.

I don’t want her voicing in BTB tbh just like most I want Jeff or someone else who’s got some sort of substance to the voice lines, even maybe the AI, since I love LUMU. It’s not because of any other reason so don’t make those poor claims, my spartan has a female voice so you can’t touch me.

I’m hoping we get her entire Armor Core with cross core items of course

My only problem is how her eyes looks so weird, same with the Pilot. I dont know why their eyes looks so unsettling. Other than that, i dont mind her, a little too upbeat and optimistic for the state of galaxy for sure.

Lack of cornea shine and depth

How much of a timeskip are we expected to believe happened between Campaign and Multiplayer?

Infinite’s campaign only takes place like 8 years after the events of Halo 3. Spartan IVs weren’t in service until at most 6 years before Infinite. And Mark VII was put into circulation at most 1 year before Infinite.

If the cutscenes occured 1 generous year before Infinite’s campaign, multiplayer would need to take place at least 5 years after that for Agryna to be as old as she is.

The cutscenes were confirmed to occur during 2552 (OG Trilogy), so the Mark VII armor is just anachronistic (like Chief and other spartans wearing the H4 Mark VI in flashbacks in the H4 intro cinematic).
