I like 343

Amidst all the hate, I just want to say how much I like what 343 has done for Halo. In Halo Reach, there were some serious issues in multiplayer at launch. I really didn’t like playing the game. After the title update (from 343), it was a much better experience. In Halo 4, 343 tried some new things based off what has been popular in other games to appeal to a lot of people to help a dying Halo community out. It may not have been our favorite Halo, but it was still Halo. They didn’t ruin it. After the massive amount of negative community feedback, they decided enough was enough and they would basically open development up to the community. From the year early beta, all the way through monthly community feedback surveys to a core audience and active community people, I would say they’re active trying to give us what we want. They literally designed the game’s REQ system to be able to add more content for us later based on feedback. THERE HAS NEVER BEEN SOMETHING LIKE THIS EVER IN HALO. And the thing is, they didn’t even promise extra content each month from what I remember, but here we are getting FREE armor, weapons skins, vehicles, etc. every month. Say what you will about 343, but they basically took an almost dead group of die hard Halo fans and grew a new, humongous community out of it. Halo is once again a (nearly) household name. After years worth of feedback and growth in Halo 5 and the community, I can see Halo 6 being a massive success. What I don’t understand is all the people hating on Halo and 343 on these forums so much. If you want Halo to be good and to thrive again, don’t you want to promote it? Anyway, thank you 343. <3

“Halo is once again a (nearly) household name.” The flagship title for the xbox is outside of the top 10 in under 3 months time. Bro things are trending down not up. Im sorry it sucks but this is the reality of the product we love. It could be an indictment of gaming in general and that may be the case, however, halo is not on the same level of quality like the past.

I’m worried this franchise will start to be over saturated like Gears of War is for Microsoft. I had no care about Gears after the third game and they still did another title and a fourth is on the way.

There is so much wrong with this topic it’s not even funny and none of it has to do with liking 343 either.

leave it to the enablers, enabling bad behavior. some credit is due in some areas however other areas need to be adressed by the company to the fans before moving on to work on any additional products

I’d consider myself more of a moderate if it wasn’t for extreme fanboyism pushing anyone who is center to the right.

Halo 5 has problems, Halo as a franchise has problems, and 343I has problems.

I think it’s ridiculous that some extreme right people pretend that 343I has done nothing good for the franchise at all, but it’s equally ridiculous to have people simply ignoring everything going wrong.

If someone wants Halo to be good again, it doesn’t make much sense for them to promote the studio that’s slowly but surely making it worse in their eyes.

I appreciate your enthusiasm for the game and for 343, and I largely share it. But when it comes to caring about whether or not anyone else is won over to the cause… that’s just beating your head against a wall. I’ve played Halo for 15 years because I love the game. But it isn’t my job to worry about what it means for the franchise if it isn’t in the xbox live top 10. It isn’t my job to grab every “lack of content,” “broken ranks,” “stupid campaign,” “sprint must die” kid by the scruff and shake him until he sees sense. It isn’t my job to think about what could have been or should have been or might yet be. I just can’t care about whether anyone else hates this game or loves it. That’s way too far above my pay grade.
