> What happened to the Halo fan base? Bloom, AAs, loadouts, perks, kill streaks, instant respawns, bad maps and default sprint happened to the Halo fan base.
You do realize members of this community has taken every single element above and generalized it into a bad situation while not seeing how it operates within the Halo 4 system. Oh well, here we go again:
Bloom - Is present on less then a handful of weapons and only one precision, small arms, weapon. The DMR is confirmed for not having it, but presenting a timing mechanism till it can be fired again in the form of a reticule expansion and as someone who has played with it, I can tell you that is how it has been functioning.
AA’s - Every single Halo game to date has altered and improved equipment including the competitive scene. AA’s took said concept of equipment and personalized it so you could utilize an additional ability when you played. the abilities themselves never hurt anything besides teach those who are going to do certain things that your going to die because you didn’t think or did too much thinking into the situation.
Loudouts - Gave a player a choice. How on earth is that bad? “Oh, it took away from the idea of balanced, even start, gameplay.” “You think that because your spawning with a jet pack, AR, and pistol and they chose to spawn with evade, AR, and pistol is destroying that concept? Think about what you say before you say it…”
Perks - See Tactical and Support Packages. It gives a faster recharge on your shields or enables you to carry two primary weapons. Support gives you additional ammo for larger, BTB size, gametypes so you don’t have to walk back all the time when you run out of DMR ammo, a radar increase by not a few feet, or gives you a radar when your scoped in. Please tell me how these will present issues to players in the larger scope of things? Small, short range maps is the only place this will prove to be beneficial and even then? It’ll only be beneficial if you take the radar increase. The packages above will do nothing to the smart and experienced player.
If those members of the Halo community wants to take those concepts I listed above and walk away, then my response is, “We’ll be right back here when the game launches and you see the differences for yourself. And no, we will welcome you back. Everyone makes mistakes.”
Streaks - As for your reference to kill streaks, that is only one of many kinds of ordnance meter buildup and it doesn’t grant any real benefits besides a possible power-up (not guaranteed every time either). If your going to talk about streaks, make sure you understand the situation surrounding it. Thanks in advance. This kind of ignorance is one of the reasons people are misinterpreting what it really can be and what it will be. Its not giving you a helicopter or invincible circumstances to rack up kills from on high or a nuke to drop on the battlefield, it gives you a personal ordnance drop. Nothing more and might I add it doesn’t feature a heavy power weapon, as a matter, it gives you a decreasing OS/temporary speed power up, a forerunner shotgun, and a needler or any number of other possibilities without a sniper, rockets, or UNSC shotgun being included. Anyone with half a brain can deal with a shotgun user, needler is predictable and weak anyways, and like I said, the only real benefit is a power-up, which isn’t confirmed every time.
Instant Respawn - Spawns you on the opposite side of the map, in a designated “safe” zone. the person who killed you already will have their shields back by the time you track them down.
Bad maps - Stop jumping on the bandwagon and present your reasoning for why this is. Be prepared for a rebuttal.
Default Sprint - You can run now. Run away, run into the combat, whatever the case may be there’s positives and negatives for every time you utilize that.
> It started as little things in Halo 3 (lag, poor map designs, equipment, a crappy spawn system), got worse in Reach (ever crappier maps, AAs, bloom, loadouts, no bleed through, sword block, fall damage), and now it’s even worse still (even worse maps than Reach being touted as competitive, only ten maps, CUSTOM loadouts, kill streaks, perks, instant spawn, sprint built in, and the return of BLOOM AND AAs).

> It’s like they looked at all the complaints about Reach and amplified it just to piss people off. 343 Industries: the biggest trolls in gaming.
Thanks for your opinion…
