I know the real reason why Halo 5 had a lackluster campaign. I know the truth behind it all. Be careful, this information is top secret, I’m gonna have ONI chasing me down for centuries for leaking this. So you want to know? You truly wish to know why it sucked? Well heres why, it’s because it didn’t have Chips Dubbo. That’s why Halo 5 didn’t have a campaign that could rival the older ones, it all makes sense now doesn’t it? Alright, ONI is literally knocking on my door right now… I gotta run!

He did make the campaigns feel unique when he popped up
Chips Dubbo is the model for all wannabe marine everywhere.
Yes!! I’ve always said this - he hasn’t been in a campaign since halo 3, and it’s starting to feel like Team America: Galaxy Police. Having him as the first marine you encounter in halo CE really makes you feel like this is all of humanity banding together for survival, and apart from a few vaguely european accents and the occasional brit, the later campaigns don’t have that feel. It’s feeling like the UNSC is synonymous with America.
I think they should’ve replaced Locke with Chips. Think about it: after fighting alongside chief through so much, nobody except the spartan II’s and halsey knows him better - except for maybe sgt. Stacker - and with all the -Yoink- Chips has been through (3 -Yoinking!- halo campaigns!!! Holy -Yoink-!) he’s bound to be a spartan by now.
Imagine this: the entire first half of the campaign leads up to Chips and Osiris confronting the chief, and when they finally come face to face, all Chips says is “Sir! The captain needs you on the bridge A.S.A.P. Follow me!”
In all seriousness though, bring chips back. Us aussies have enough slack with the servers and still not being able to find a -Yoink!- free for all game - having him in there would be a consolation. If the actor’s not available, I’ll do it for free. I’m an Australian actor with recording equipment and I can pretty much replicate his voice exactly. Just give me the script and I’ll email them to you/upload them to dropbox.
Currently, everyone in our cast of characters is palpably American except for Kelly. Even Lasky, Halsey, Palmer - all the side characters. The entirety of fireteam Osiris. Without at least one aussie marine in there (or a South African, or a Kiwi, or an Irish or Norwegian etc) it really does feel like it’s Halo 5: Americans.
I know the US is their main market, but come on 343i. Bring back “My Mate Chips”.

I’m replaying it on solo legendary and I’m actually really enjoying it.
Weird, I thought it was because they shoehorned cortana back, ruined Chief’s evolution as a human and created a boring new character that you play as more than Chief, and misled us with the Hunt the Truth marketing campaign.
