Why was dual wielding cut from Halo 4? I’m trying to prove a buddy wrong. He says that dual-wielding was cut because of 343i added custom loadouts. I say it was because of money and time budgeting. Who is correct? Or are we both wrong?
Would have taken more time, money, and effort for them to put in the game. Halo works smoothly even without dual wielding. Not completely necessary.
With a sprint button added on top of the controller layout, it would’ve been a bit difficult to put into the game too. And yeah, it made individual weapons weaker.
That is a good reason, but what was the specific reason it was cut? I’m not a fan of dual wielding, but I’m trying to prove a buddy wrong.
As the others said, mainly for balancing purposes. And I cant complain, I’d much rather use the plasma needler in 3/reach/CE than 2’s. Or the plasma pistol/rifle from Halo CE/Reach than 2/3.
Because it broke the golden triangle. You can’t throw grenades or melee when dual wielding if you want to keep your second gun.
From the direction and emphasis 343 has taken so far, I’m guessing they thought dual wielding was too complex to appeal to new gamers. I don’t think it’s for balancing reasons because of the large amount of new weapons they’re introducing.
It would have been cool in campaign. Dual smgs like in Halo 2, or even dual energy swords when in the final fight.
Dual swords would have half the recovery time if used one at a time, and double the power against shielded enemies.
i think another reason was beacuse it was godly back then 2 wield a plasma with pistol or 2 neederler now i just charge plasma pistol then switch to dmr or pistol or melee them works fine with me

While I like duel wielding, it was unbalanced the key thing is it was the weapons that took a hit when in reality what needed to take a hit was the aim. Duel wielding dose not make your weapons weaker it just means that you have double the ammunition and fire power of said gun how ever in real life you can’t aim as good as a single weapon, there are a few that can mange this but even then its still more of a cool thing that they can do. For duel wielding to be balanced they would have to fix aim not the weapons. As for saying it would be to complex to new gamers how? All you do is pick up a second weapon and fire, if you want to throw a grande or switch weapons you drop the second weapon.
