Wouldn’t it be cool to have a 0% gravity option in forge/custom games? I know its partially possible with gravity volumes and stuff, but I think it would be cool to make a boxed area and float around killing each other, with the only means of moving would be jumping off a wall or your thruster pack. I know the extra physics like transitioning your whole body would be almost impossible for a FPS shooter, but just think about having 0% Gravity fights with the ProPipe or Plasma Caster.
Or another idea for forge would be based on gravity volumes, and you get orientated based on which way the volume is pointing (For example, if you place a gravity volume sideways, you will be rotated sideways and can walk/jump off a wall. Not as awesome as 0 gravity, but would be much easier for the devs to code in (I think)

That would be very disorienting, which is why other games don’t do it. It wouldn’t be next-gen as developers could have done it at any time, but it would confuse the player and nobody wants their game to get bad reviews because people couldn’t figure out which way was up.
Zero G Breakout. 'Nuff said.
And make it so we could put cover around that we could clamber, move onto and jump off, Ender’s Game style. This should seriously be a new game mode if it could be balanced enough, probably too close to release to add it in but maybe DLC? Just think about it 343, zero g combat playlists, Slayer, Breakout and Objective. Zero G Warzone would be pretty sick but that’s the real stretch.
I’d like to see this as a custom trait zone, but I wouldn’t want the player’s whole body spinning upside down and stuff, so no wall jumping. Keep the player oriented normally and just have zero-gravity physics. Thruster pack will be sufficient enough for getting around. In fact, that was the original purpose of the thruster pack in the first place, not as a grounded evade/dodge, but as a way to maneuver through space.

Well 0 gravity itself wouldn’t be a stretch, but the spinning stuff would be totally new, and would require a ridiculous amount of time and coding to work properly

How would it require more coding? And I’m sure it wouldn’t take that much effort for 343 to design some maps that are completely enclosed and have some cover around the area. The real challenge, in my opinion, would be creating the maps so that thrusters, stabilizers and clamber are the most reliable way to maneuver and the need to create the maps so that everyone can take advantage of it being zero g. So making jumping off walls and moving upside down to flank enemies viable instead of just facing them head on.

I guess it wouldn’t be “too” bad, since all you’re doing is rotating your character around, but you would have to rotate the field of view, add an animation of sorts when you rotate your camera from 1 angle to another, but it may take some time, but not too much I don’t think
This would be pretty awesome and you have my support trooper.
Now lets take this to the next level. How about a space map with 1 UNSC cruiser and 1 Covenant cruise and a asteroid field or something like that in the middle and then you can have space vehicles for battle but with all the objects in between the cruisers players can travel by foot through space by using thrusters and use mag boots to have a solid footing on floating objects.
I haven’t thought everything through yet but something like this would pretty cool.

I agree, that would be crazy. Now that I think about it, I’m looking forward to a game that can do all that spinning stuff. Even in regular gravity it would be interesting

They could do a Warzone map on Argent Moon, the space station in the Blue Team footage. Of course most of it would have to be the outside space parts of it was going to be interesting, it could be sorta like the Gamma Station or Anchor 9 maps from Halo Reach but bigger.

Actaully, Crysis 1 or Crysis Warhead (don’t remember which one) did this and it was fun as hell. All that would have to be done is getting the right control configuration in so that it’s easy to maneuver in Zero G environments.
