All these playlists are doing are forcing me to quit games. When I want to play BTB in Halo 2, if I end up in another Halo game then my friends and I are just simply going to leave the match. Why throws us into other games if we want to play a specific game? It’s bad enough that 4v4 objectives and team slayer are all one playlist for Halo 2 Classic (hopefully each game mode will be separately ranked, though they said each playlist has a rank, which is dumb) but if I want to play anything outside 4v4 there is a chance I will end up in another game. Odds are most people will vote for Halo 2 maps, but I am sure the other games will get their chance and that there may be times when Halo 2 maps aren’t even there as a voting option. Man, I am just severely disappointed. Saying the multiplayer is there “exactly as it shipped ten years ago” is a far cry from the truth. But I am sure you guys saw hundreds of these topics already, I just needed to vent. Not even really that excited about the game anymore 
These are just the major playlist. there could be split ups inside them to allow a more focus look. even CoD has done this is AW
Customs is the only thing I can recommend. Quitting is what created the JIP for H4 and people complained, now that mcc has gone back to the old ways the players who stay will be in a tight spot.
They have said nothing that indicates that. They just said “these are the launch playlists”.
This post is EXACTLY what I’ve been talking about in the other threads about playlists. Kids will quit, period, if they don’t get right ‘MAP’ in Halo games, now we’re talking ‘GAME’ & ‘MAP’… it’s going to be insane. And with no JIP (for the lobby quits)… it will simply be unplayable.
I will spend time playing the very limited options for game specific playlists to avoid the entitled masses. It SHOULD be 3 playlists for each (voted for on Waypoint or in game) & 5 for H2A. Maybe one or two cross-platform (do I hear doubles?).

I don’t want to be a jerk, but that’s what I will do and what I hope others will do so that 343 sees that a good amount of people don’t want it this way. Of course, many people will be voting for H2 stuff anyway, so jumbling together all the games seems silly to begin with.

Yeah, and they have separate ranks for each game because 343 themselves said each game plays differently and requires different skills and tactics. Some people want to play the strategic Halo 2 game modes and not the Halo 4 kill streak explosion sprint fest.
As long as a suitable ban is imposed for those that do quit.

Yea, the avoid player list will be getting dusted off just like it did in h3 and reach.
Halo 2 is the selling point of this package. A lot of people are going to quit games where a vote just barely goes in favor of another game. They will have to ban a lot of quitter then.
BTB is my biggest problem. It’s my favourite playlist (and happens to have been the most popular since at least Halo 3) and I can’t stand Halo 4.

Exactly! I’m seriously losing my mind over this news. Classic Halo 2 BTB IS and WILL ALWAYS BE the absolute best game/playlist in Halo’s franchise history. Like you said, Halo 2 is what this collection is all about. They NEED to create dedicated playlists for H2 specifically or this will turn into a nightmare. I want to be able to go into H2 BTB and look forward to getting headlong, waterworks, relic, containment, etc, not a terribly designed Halo 4 map forcing me to play a terribly made game. Also, I agree, people, along with myself, will quit. Who wants to play across all 4 games when they all feel and play differently? Please, 343, Classic H2 game-specific playlists. I’m just happy that Halo 4 isn’t a part of a lot of the playlists. It does stink that it’s in BTB but that’s something we’ll just have to deal with.

Yeah, but that’s the point. They’re so worried about players being thinned out amongst the four games? Who cares! People are paying for a game and should be allowed to play whichever game they feel like at a particular time. Trust me, there would be players in every playlist regardless. I will never play a H4 map ever in this collection. Ever. And trust me, if they install a quitting ban and still have these mixed game playlists, the whole community will be banned real quick.

That would be the logical thing to do. Unfortunately, they haven’t chosen to do that. Like I said, at the very least, they have to do that for H2.
The multiplayer playlists will have other gamemodes added to it, probably more game-specific playlists for people like you (and me occasionally).
I think 343 get the message and will do something about it post-launch.

Why just Halo 2 though? Why not have however many playlists that are needed to cater for what everybody wants? Its only 30 playlists for the various multiplayer map modes, just multiply that by the various gametypes and…oh wait, we’re into the hundreds…

It’s because 343 has come out and said that they’re worried it will thin out the community too much. I’m simply suggesting Halo 2 specifically because they’re most likely to do that game in paritcular. It’s without question the best halo multiplayer experience. It deserves it’s own playlist for separate game modes, especially BTB. If they had H2 BTB like they have H2 Mixed 4v4, I’d be fine.
