What exactly happened to the halo wars community?
I haven’t played Halo Wars, but it’s probably the same issue Halo 3 is having. If you go on Halo 3 there’s only a few hundred that still play Halo 3 matchmaking and it’s so unpopulated that the filter each time has to find players of all skill levels. The same thing has probably happened to Halo Wars. Halo Wars didn’t sell like other Halos did so there may have been a fair amount of players then, but they’re probably all almost gone now. You also have to take into consideration that Halo Wars was made by a different game studio and Halo Wars was its final game.
The Halo Wars community was very small from the start. It’s an RTS and those game types don’t have good track records on consoles. Most of the fans played it because it was a Halo title. Ensemble Studios, the company that made Halo Wars, actually went under in 2009 which kinda killed the game too. I can’t remember who took control of the servers but someone did so people could still play online. Once I got up to General, I stopped playing. I need to go back and clean up some story achievements at some point thought
