A small debate here on Waypoint was about the Infinity and how it repairs itself from crash-landing on Requiem. Now I think I may know why! Haven’t finished Thursday War yet, no spoilers please!
So you know how the Forerunners used Hard-light to repair their ships after damage? Well I think that the Infinity may incorporate some of this technology, and is why it is able to repair itself to full capability within days. It’d also be pretty cool if the UNSC has Hard-light!
What do you guys think?
She may have something like that it’s more likely she didn’t sustain that much damage to begin with at the Engineers they now possess took care of the repairs. This piece of concept art always intrigued me. They remind me of these things from Halo Reach. The UNSC may be bringing them inside to help lift the Infinity off the ground. Or maybe her new Forerunner engines allow her to take off on her own. I don’t know for sure.
Infinity’s got nano-bots, like the MJOLNIR Mark VI. It can completely reassemble the ship, but it can’t buff out those scratches on the belly of the ship. Silly nano-bots.
high UNSC forerunner tech

That’s the Pillar of Autumn, the ship from Halo 1. She’s a Halcyon-Class Cruiser, they’re very old ships that were refitted and re-armed/armoured for the war in desperate measures.
As for the OP, I also too suspected Hard-Light to make an appearance. Either that, or there are a considerable amount of engineers on board.

Nor the burn mark/dents on Chief’s chest piece. Silly nano-bots.
