I’ll preface this by saying I’d consider myself above average, but nothing special, in past titles. I had gotten to a point where I felt like I had hit my skill ceiling. Like I was as good as I was ever going to get.
Enter Halo Infinite, and I’m missing more shots than usual. Getting killed more. Ranked at Gold instead of Platinum/Diamond. In a weird way, this feels good to me. Maybe I’m in the minority here, but it feels good to know I have something I can work on to get better. Admittedly, I haven’t touched many of the aiming settings, only sensitivity. I like that my gun doesn’t feel like it’s magnetized to the other players.
I know it won’t be a popular opinion, but I think the aiming should be left alone (on controller at least.)
TL;DR: The aiming is certainly different, and I’m now bad at Halo. And I like it.
