Hello, i have this problem with Halo reach since the next year.
when i kill an elite(in campaign, in multiplayer i don’t know because i haven’t gold) i get 0 credits, if i kill them with an headshot i get only two.
How can i get the normal number of credits?
With Grunt, Brute and jackal there are no problems.
I have xbox live silver.
I think only headshots give you cR in campaign.
No, month ago they give me more then 10cr per elite
Good afternoon.
While you have a silver account on LIVE, with each rank you earn, as well as your current commedations, you will recieve less cR with every level up in commedation tier, as well as rank. This was done by Bungie to prevent people from boosting, as well as cheating. I know it sounds cheap, but it is also Microsoft’s incentive for you to have a gold account. When you have a gold account, only commedation tiers will determine how much less cR you earn from certain actions (As you earn more more general cR for time played in a game basically based upon rank, more cR for higher ranks) . I’ve tested this myself, so I know how this works.
I hope this helps and have a nice day now.
Ah ok, thank you.
I thought that it was a bug because of this happened only with elite but what you said seems correct.
Thank you very much.
No you get credits if you completed the mission for the first time
No mystery here. You get CR for a headshot in campaign on any covie enemy. These credits go towards your Pinpoint ( headshot) and precisely (precision Weapon) commendations. There is no commendation credits for just killing an elite unless the elite is a leader then you get a credit for your Leadership commendation. but of course kill and elite with a headshot and you get credits. kill an elite leader with a headshot and you get more.
The credits you see for killing grunts jackals and brutes are from your “Cannon Fodder” commendation for killing an infantry class enemy which of course most grunts jackals and brutes are infantry class.
Some grunts, brutes and jackals will also give you a credit for your “Spec Ops” commendation and your Leadership commendation. Grunt heros and fuel rod gun grunts are counted as spec ops, brute captains are leadership commendations.
Playing on or offline wont effect what you get credits for but will effect the amount of credits you get. As you move through the commendation ranks though you will get less credits for each commendation. what I mean by that is when you first start out you may get say 10 credits for one headshot all the way till you reach the iron rank, once you get that from iron to bronze it may pay you only 9 credits. bronze to silver pays less again, say 7 credits. By the time you reach Onyx rank it may only be paying you 2 credits for a headshot and will only continue to pay credit until you max out a commendation. Once you max out a commendation you get nothing. This may explain why for some kills you are getting now credits now. have you checked your commendations to see if any of them are at max rank.
Other things to consider too are how you killed the elites. Did you use grenades, heavy weapons etc etc. you can get combination credits too. kill and elite leader with a grenade and you get 2 lots of credits if it is your 5th kill then youll get extra for the spree commendation. Did you get a multikill at the same time. That gets credits too.
With so many things contributing to commendations credits you sometime just don’t know why you get them and why some give you more points than others.

Your statement is partially true. This only applies to silver accounts. If you are online and have a gold account, you will earn an average of 1000cR to 2000cR (Determined on rank, plus commedations) per mission every time you play regardless of how many times you played.

Yup, that explains the commedation aspect in better detail, thank you.
