What began as a casual interest in Reach, SWAT became my favourite game mode in Halo 4.
When I got 5, I jumped into swat as soon as I finished the campaign.
Ranked gold, and had some fun eventually working up to diamond that season.
Since then I’ve solo’d to diamond every season.
When grifball came out, I started up a casual interest, but swat remained my primary gametype.
If it hadn’t been for 343’s genius decision to remove half of the maps from my favourite game mode that were “allegedly” being quit on more (malarkey), I may never have gotten into grifball the way I have.
I found a new favourite mode, and have made many friends in it.

Praising one simple game mode means everything should be just sunshine and rainbows then? That’s quite a desperate stretch.

Yeah I read the post.
Expanded material which mentions grifball. I do not know of any material as of yet.

There’d be more positivity in halo 5 if the game was fun to play, wasn’t frustrating to hell, didn’t have broken aiming mechanics, a fair mm system etc etc. people don’t hate h5 just to hate.

^ Exactly! I used to play Halo 5 continuously only because of the updates despite having very little good feelings about the game as a Halo title, it’s why I’ve stopped playing the game so frequently, I usually just do 1 or 2 custom matches with my friends then go off to my wii/gamecube/360 to play something more entertaining. I get 343 wanted Halo 5 to focus on the competitive crowd, but compared to the casual/non-competitive players it’s a very small crowd, and it’s why Halo 5 seems to have such a small population despite claims otherwise. I’m not saying Halo 5 is a bad game overall, just that it really doesn’t deserve most of the praise it gets.

I guess my sarcasm wasn’t quite as effective as the OP, but I was giving his post a thumbs up.

As I’ve said here before, you should really put an “/s” at the end of a sarcastic post. Not that it is any fault of yours, but I’ve seen sarcastic posts escalate because it can be hard to tell if someone is being sarcastic or not. Because there are obviously people on here who genuinely believe it is all ‘sunshine and rainbows’, to paraphrase another comment here as an example.

I think the italics pretty much spell out the sarcasm. You can tell even without them. Is a sarcasm tag really necessary? Nothing ruins a joke like having to explain it, I say just let people live in rainbow and lollipop land. Given their sunny disposition I don’t think they really need to get the joke for a laugh anyway.
And yeah, the game started getting stale when the updates stopped. It could really use one to liven things up, but I know sooner or later they had to stop. Hopefully the effort is going into Halo 6. Still, a decent update could draw players back in and maybe get the ones with money that are coming back after a while will just buy the $20 packs to load up on weapons and check out the new ones and maybe grab some cool new armor. Could be a decent cash grab, but it’s not like I have any idea how cost effective that would be.

Well if you missed his sarcasm I don’t feel too bad that you missed mine. When someone thanks and calls it genius to remove half of the maps from their favorite game type while at the same time questioning the sincerity of their motives in doing so… He does appear to play a crapton of Grifball though. So some truth to making lemonade when you’re given lemons. Good for him.

Besides the italics in one word, the rest seemed sincere enough.
While your statement is said more often then you think, making it also believable.

I don’t believe there is any since Grifball isn’t lore based (Aside from Red vs Blue).
There’s good and bad to be found in h5. I must be very weird to not mind sprinting and clambering as well as ads (if you don’t like aiming with an AR then you don’t have to). What I don’t like is the story and some of the new art and sound design. Gameplay is still fun I think.

Yeah I wouldn’t figure there’d be much. Thought they could have snuck in an easter egg or quick mention since the War Games now makes anything in multiplayer open to be canon.
