Please, 343, do not do what you did with Halo 4 as far as the “social rank” goes. It was way too easy, too quick, and was not interesting. Once you hit 130 there was really nothing to do until CSR came out.
All I’m saying is, please make it more like Halo Reach. Make a lot of ranks that aren’t easy to get to as it progresses, make the social ranks interesting, make them so you have to put in a lot of gameplay to get to the max rank and not just 1-130 and you’re done. It gives reasons for some (not all) players to play more. I don’t wanna get on Halo 5 (as I’m sure many others feel this way) and be max rank in a week.
I’m not sure if many of you will agree, but I’d like to see something more like Halo Reach as far as the non-competitive ranks go. However, I’m not completely up to date and not sure if their minds are already made up about this, but I thought I’d put this out there.

I’ll agree to this. I got up to SR130 pretty dang easily. My friend was a die-hard Reach fan, yet he’s not even top rank (I believe its Forerunner or Inheritor) yet.

I remember on my 360 playing Reach constantly and I wasn’t even half done when Halo 4 came out. (I was a bit late to the Reach party) However, it gave me more reason to play and I actually enjoyed seeing how close I was to getting up a rank every game. Felt even better when I actually achieved one. I know the progression system isn’t the most popular among players of the Halo community, but it is a pretty good incentive to keep playing and was pretty enjoyable, at least to me.
Admittedly, reaching Inheritor rank in Reach, legitimately was satisfying. I’d like something like that. Have some unlockables exclusive to high social ranks.

The ranks keep players around a bit longer, as some want to be come that “best rank ever”

Exactly, but unfortunately it doesn’t work when everyone can get that “best rank ever” in about a week.

When you do a ranking system like that then offer double xp the ranks fly by then your stuck.
Still love the ranking system for H3 the best. You got your overall experience and it shows your experience in each individual playlist, then you got the rank 1-50 for each ranked playlist. I like how 5 star general took awhile to get. Gives you a reason to keep playing.
130 was too easy. And 1-50>Onyx

And still too me forever to Reach Inheritor, even with daily and weekly challenges. I played the heck out of that game
