“Halo 4 Multiplayer Introduces Perks, 343i Assures “Halo’s not Call of Duty””
it’s been announced that kill streaks (weapon drops), perks, and upgrades are in halo 4 thanks to 343 studios.
So this means not only does the E3 campaign game-play look nothing like an expansive open end ACTUAL halo game (more of a combination of the worst levels you played as the arbiter in halo 2)
but 343 is going out of their way to completely ruin the franchise by not letting all users start out on the same level in each multiplayer match. They are turning halo into pretty much everything bungie swore halo wouldn’t turn into.
Then I saw the “UNSC weaponry trailer” and was simply disgusted that they would include:
1.Dubstep in a HALO GAME, has bungie ever released a halo trailer without halo music, why would you not do this just in order to play “popular music”?
2.Trivial guns, multiple types of the same exact gun (something bungie avoided in EVERY SINGLE GAME 343 throws in like it’s nothing) Like the saw. Really? First off, you mean to tell me that they couldn’t think up a more creative weapon than a bigger gun that shoots more rounds faster? Secondly,Could they really not develop a better aesthetic design or better firing animation for it?
Then I saw the pre-order bonuses Halo 4 armor skins in one compilation pic. | HaloFanForLife
and all I could do was think how the CEO of bungie feels about 343 completely ruining his glorious franchise. I mean seriously, just look at those “bonuses”. Would anyone in their right mind include something as flamboint as that in a HALO game?
But in the end it’s not that Perks are in CoD that bothers me, it’s the fact that perks are in everything that gets to me. I mean, in some instances it’s a good thing. But there’s part of me that just wants everyone to be on a relatively even playing field. Especially in Halo because that is a KEY ELEMENT THAT MAKES HALO HALO.
I’m also really skeptical of their focus on maps designed for a “competitive” audience. I don’t want grids and boxes all day with absurd map design, I want organic maps that feel like actual places like Bungie makes. That’s really what I picture when I hear them designing maps for a competitive audience. I don’t care about competing in a game, I play for fun and I like to win but that pleasure is derived from an immersive experience, not a detached FPS throwback to CS or TF.
A little skeptical as well of 343 straying away from re-using single player locations, if they’re good and organic… use them, I don’t care if they’re single player locations. You talk badly about Reach of re-using single player locations.
it was 343’s job to just keep making halo, but 343 ruined what made halo “halo” so much so that you can tell just by the trailers before the game is released.

(this is just honest criticism, it would be a shame if some mod pulled a bioware and locked any threads talking negatively about halo 4)
There will be no Dubstep in the game. It’s only in the soundtrack. I still think it feels like Halo. 343i are true Halo fans, trust them, they know the community and the franchise very well.
Dude, you honestly dont appreciate how hard 343 has worked to deliver an awesome game for people like you to complain and tell them to make better this and telling them what they could have done. In all respect and appreciation for 343 and Halo 4…I have to say you suck dude.
I’ve been trying to tell myself it’s -Yoink!-'s/greeds fault forcing Halo go towards the maistream direction which i peronally dislike.
There’s a reason why Bungie jumped off and didn’t sign another contract with -Yoink!- studios.
No one can simply be that stupid to go this way Halo 4 goes on purpose.

Dubstep was just a different form of music they are trying out.

Dude, Bungie’s 10 year contract expired and they didnt want to make any Halo games anymore. It was there own personal decision to leave Halo and its not MS’s fault.
first off “the saw” is a LIGHT MACHINE GUN… meaning its basically an anti-vehicular and anti-personnel weapon. or portable turret as you will… secondly everyone starts halo 4 at the same spot. THE BEGINNING! they all start at the beginning of the campaign, they all start at LEVEL ONE, they all start with the same equipment, its when you start leveling up that you can personalize your play style to fit your needs. and “ordnance drops” are not kill streaks. ordnance drops are a build of of points for doing certain things, it doesn’t have to do with kills, and it doesn’t reset after every death. and each ordnance drop takes progressively longer to get the more drops you get… and Tactical Packages and support upgrades aren’t major game changers. so stop comparing everything about H4 to CoD
No this thread isn’t honest critisim.
You haven’t played the game yet so can’t come to the conclusion that 343i ruined Halo.
It’d be great if a mod came and locked threads like these. Is it me, or are some of the people in this community so unappreicative?? Maybe it’s the way I was raised, Idk, but it’s pretty ignorant of those who judge and critize to come these conclusions, when they haven’t played the game yet!

> You do realize the game will ship with classic slayer, no perks, no drop-in weaponry? Classic Halo ala camp the power weapon spawns?
>
> Gosh people like you complain without thinking first these days.
They have never stated that the “classic” mode won’t include perks or ordnance.
