Why do you guys want your 1 - 50 rank visible in-game? What does it mean to you if 343i did that?
Reason why i ask is because im just confused on why its important is all
Explain?

Having the number helps players see how far they have progressed in skill under a certain playlist. It also give you the ability to see other players skill levels and evaluate if they will be a credit to the team or just act like a idiot.
Many players also use it as something to strive for. To get their skill up another level. It’s like setting yourself a mini challenge; “I’m going to get skill to 47 by tonight!”
I personally don’t care either way it it’s visible or not but I do respect the reasoning behind both sides of the argument.

Simplest answer is:
It gives people incentive to play to achieve a higher rank, much like gaining xp to unlock armor etc. gives people incentive to play more games.
I personally would much rather prefer to play against people of my own skill and climb a rank depending on my skill, than to just grind & grind & grind & grind…
It separates the BK’s from people who know how to play. You want to know what some people find fun? A fair, not random game against people that are the same as you skill wise.
I don’t want 1-50 straight from Halo 3. I want something new, a new type of ranking system that works for competitive players while giving us social playlists to relax in. Everyone wins.
Look you don’t need a masters degree in Computer sciences with that typical elitist, smug attitude that is common in the gaming industry to tell you how much sense this makes. Give both social and ranked playlists to cater many audiences all at the same time without forcing players to go all social or all ranked.
A 50/50 experience would work the best IMO. Why are we content with either extreme? Reach proved this to us how bad it is to go all Social with lax trueskill systems. At least in Halo 4, it seems to be working behind the scenes (fact, i get more closer matches than i ever did in Reach).
If there is a ranking system for Halo 4, i don’t expect CSR to be perfect right out the gate. I don’t care how much data they are collecting right now, it’s going to have flaws but the kinks can always be ironed out.

If you’re playing for an awfully long time, but you’re not improving, you shouldn’t be achieving stuff.
> People like to achieve stuff in games. 1-50 is no different except it’s tied to ones ability to win and not time they have put into the game.
