I just want my game to work...

This is very depressing. I cannot play a single game without lag, I cannot go a single day without getting booted from games do to connection. I have a spectacular download/upload speed, ping, jitter, and 0% packet loss. Spoke with the ISP and they have no more options for me. And all that I am getting from every possible internet reference including that of 343i is possible solutions that do not work for everyone.

I traded in my entire regular Xbox collection to purchase this game, which was a pain in the butt to begin with, so I cant just swing buying a bunch of stuff. I need a definitive answer and solution to the problem. Google server thing, not an option, doesn’t work for everyone apparently. I just want answers and direction.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

If there needs to be a test subject to do some connection/diagnostics tests I will volunteer myself to be the test dummy to see where exactly the problem lies. I assume it is a conflict between the Hardware/software in the TWC provided modem and the 343i Servers. IDK. I just want what I paid for.

Thanks.

Couldn’t have said it better myself, I’ve just given up on trying to play. Just waiting for 343i to address this issue so I can sleep at night knowing they are going to fix it.

Yep I couldn’t agree more. Mine is just abnormally high latency but im in exactly the same boat. Multiple calls to ISP, eliminating all sources of latency in both my home network and their network. (I’m very experienced with this).

Australian servers here.

So I posted on the IGN forums about this problem and I got some promising feedback.

"343i use MS Azure servers. They are located in random locations. It sounds to me like the servers hosting Halo in whatever area you connect to you have a routing issue with. If you could get an ip to a multiplayer server you could run a trace route to it and see if thats the case.

Most likely the issue will be somewhere outside of the TWC network as well as outside of the MS Azure server network. One of the hops you are routing through is probably giving you trouble. When I worked with Verizon in the FIOS dept we had a lot of WOW players who had trouble similar to this and we found the issue in an ATT server that we had to call them and get straightened out.

Now im not 100% sure this is your problem, it could be other things but this sounds like the most likely culprit."

Do we have any way to look into this as a possible fix or has the issue already been narrowed down. I did hear of someone talking to Microsoft Adv. Support and hearing that there was supposed to be a patch to address the problem…Just haven’t had a game without lag for a while, and this morning has been the absolute worst yet.

ive had a few friends fix this issue by switching to a docsis 2.0 modem router with time warner as it seems it is a isp issue

Sometimes, for hours every game I join in, I teleport around. It’s quite hilarious but so annoying, considering you take 5 steps and get ported back 3 steps.

My connection is -Yoink-, it’s only 10Mbps, and I’m running wireless. Only experienced lag in 2 games (I remember because I’m so amazed) and was DC’d from just 1 of those 2.

Good to know, people kept telling me to switch modems but never to what model. Will talk to TWC tomorrow. Thanks.

Search Time warner cable and halo 5, this is an extremely common issue. Also seems to effect comcast.
