Ryan Payton, Original Halo 4 Creative Director, anyone?
Yeah, he quit ages ago.
Now I’m left scratching my head thinking ‘why?’.
He wanted to take Halo in a different direction than the rest of the team; considering he used to work for Konami/Kojima Productions, my guess is cutscenes every ten seconds and androgynous ninjas and a character that says ‘So you like to play Forza?’
He worked on the story. His official title was Narrative Director. I am perfectly fine with him leaving.

With that logic, Halo 4 will turn out to be a game filled with many various references from a wide variety of games, most of which would not originate from sources that are supported by Microsoft.
because he knew 343 'F’ed up…??
Or there might be the possibility that 343i never had and/or never will have a decent creative/narrative director.
This is unsettling.
I’d like to look in to who hires who. I’ve seen what happened to Rare.
He says he wasn’t given enough freedom. That is why he left. Not because he didn’t like the game.
Also, a company filled with ex-employees from other game studios is usually a bad sign.
Especially if they wanted to work on Halo.
If someone leaves their workplace for another that they see as better rather than seeing themselves as ‘too good’ for their old job, it’s going to seem pretty terrifying when everyone on board is like that.
Even those who consider themselves ‘too good’ for working at their most recent job can prove just as troublesome.
For what I’ve remember he was diagnosed with strong depresion. I could sent you for whole story, but it’s from polish site (Polish anyone?).
After that he said that he wanted to make something for masses. Strange words for narrative director. Games like Angry Birds doesn’t need much narration…
