I just realized something...

Why are Drones not in Firefight? They are such a small part of the game I never noticed there absence from Firefight. Why would Bungie be so foolish? Firefight would have been the best way to make Drones a lot more apart of the game and make a lot people actually think about them when thinking of the Covenant. When I think of the Covenant I usually think of Grunts, Jackals and Elites, then I think a bit more and Brutes pop in to mind then Skirmishers, then after a while I think, “Oh yea I forgot all about the Drones”. Why are they not in Firefight? Would it be possible to put them in on a future update or is that to big a job for an already released game? Would have added some more dimension to the game to.

If we see drones as enemy’s or at all in Halo4 then they should definitely be in Firefight, or if there is a new species that fly’s. Also the Flood needs to be there in H4.

Thoughts?

I found them extremely annoying to be honest…I think a lot of people did, which could be why they were removed.

They were replaced with Skirmishers though

I am annoyed by them in Campaign as well. they are not missed in FF…at least by me, lol.

It would be cool just for the sake of seeing a little variety in our enemies, I rather tire of ground troops. Scarabs in Halo 4 firefight would make me really happy though :D. Maybe as like a boss wave or something.

Imo, they helped give it the actual survival feel.

Annoying in campaign but they could have been changed slightly for FF.

Are they at least in Custom Game FF options? I have not checked.

:frowning: I miss those little buggers.

There is probably a canon reason why they aren’t on Reach.

Replay Pillar Of Autumn.

They were in New Alexandria, and on Pillar of Autumn campaign missions.

never noticed myself, but dronepocolypse would be a nightmare!

very annoying in firefight, but im sad to see them go in a way.

In ODST, they gave a feeling of survival, like “fall back, drones incoming!”

either way, all people play in reach is arcade score attack, which is retarted because there is no “survival element”, its just powerweapons and overshields against covy hordes.

lol, I actually never noticed this.

There’s probably a technical reason behind it.

From what I’ve seen and heard, people generally disliked Drones in FF. Some actually hated them and wanted them gone. Personally, however, I rather have Drones than Skirmishers.

Skirmishers are not only even more annoying than Drones, they’re also a boring enemy. Drones were unique; they were a separate species, they were the only insectoid race in the Covenant, and they were the only ones that could fly. Skirmishers are just slightly modified Jackals that employ speed and high-jumping instead of shields.

I guess they would add variety upon reflection (no pun intended)

Yeah, jetpacking with the buggers sounds like fun. We finally get a Jet Pack and no one to fly with…so lonely up there. Maybe it wouldn’t work in firefight since there bodies explode when they are headshoted.

And as for Firefight being too acrcadlike and easy: play Mythic attack, the two crashsite variants (FF Limited and Score attack), Firefight Limited gametypes. They are definitely not easy on Reach matchmaking’s default Heroic difficulty.
