( potential lore spoilers )
Going back to the lore, to the best of my recollection ( not sure if I remember the lore entirely correctly ), the Precursors judged the Forerunners unworthy of the Mantle and had plans to remove them from power or destroy them preemptively ( a Forerunner Claim ) so that they couldn’t gain/maintain control over the Galaxy, leading to the Forerunners Striking out and destroying the Primordials or at least the Forerunners claimed as much that the Precursors we’re going to destroy them so they struck first.
So with the dialogue talking about “Endless loops” and there being parallels of other past events repeating, What if something similar is happening with the Forerunners and the Endless, with the Forerunners being in the dominant position of control like the Precursors were and opting to remove the Endless from being able to have any control or power ( namely over time ),
Making a similar loop of events where instead of the Forerunners opting to destroy the Precursors for wanting to dethrone them, it’s the Endless opting to go to war with the Forerunners/Reclaimers due to their False imprisonment ???
The exact truth of what happened in the Precursors Forerunner war seems somewhat unclear but I wouldn’t be surprised if this is another loop, where the tides are turned on the Forerunners, where they get to experience what they did to the ( Presumably not bad ) precursors that sought to Prevent the Forerunner from obtaining the mantle as a precautionary measure.
This might not be the story direction, but I couldn’t help but think it could be a parallel, esp with the Artifacts taking about looping sequences of events.
Perhaps this could give us more insight to the ancient Precursor and Forerunner conflict of the endless have some of memories of the events of they are connected to Precursors or have access to history of that era passed through a hive mind.
It would be interesting to see how this story plays out with Offensive Bias and where his loyalties lie. Will he remain loyal to the Forerunners or come to the realization that the Endless we’re mistreated, although the story seems somewhat convoluted by Chief having fought the Harbinger implying that the Endless are at least some sort of Viable threat having chose to work with the Banished etc…
