I’m really hoping i made the right decision after all these terrible decisions of Halo going backwards in the franchise of un-balancement. I’m going to give it all to the TU coming this mid Febuary to my final decision of purchasing another game from them ever.
Also, 343 Industries please keep on reading on the threads about the complaints of how to fix the game, they’re are plenty of threads with 50+ pages about things that need to be fixed that are very important to all of us.
Am i making the right decision? Well see when the TU hits to see some major changes. PS visable ranks are needed for competitive or even fun playing games!
I don’t think the war games pass is worth it. I got the limited edition for the armor which also wasn’t worth it, I wonder how the console people feel providing they needed a new console anyway.
You should make your decision about if you are going to buy another game from them…when the next game is relatively close to being released. One TU can’t possibly fix everything everyone thinks is wrong with the game. As far as we know they will change things “back to Halo” for Halo 5 considering the negative reaction to many of the choices they made. Personally, I like them and it still feels like Halo to me.
343 is actually pretty active in the Matchmaking forum. If people would post their suggestions in there, they might actually get a response. It would also help if they didn’t just complain and offered constructive criticism rather than saying “DMR SUCKS! BS SUCKS! CAMO IS BROKEN!! I HATE THIS GAME AND 343 IS THE WORST DEV EVER! MY OPINION IS FACT!!!” and so on.
Visible ranks aren’t NEEDED to play competitively or to have fun. If you are competing to win, you are being competitive. I have lots of fun with the game even without ranks being visible. My personal achievements mean more to me than letting everyone know what my rank is.
They probably won’t ever be put in-game, and most certainly won’t when it launches.
That being said, I understand why people want it to be visible, I just have a different opinion…being that it really doesn’t affect me either way. As far as the map pass goes, I’m waiting until I see the new maps (via walkthrough vids and screenshots). There’s no real reason not to get it now, I just feel like waiting.

Right, will i’m having high hopes in 343i fixing alot of major issues in game for more balancement and compeitive play just tired of the randomness exspeically with the ordinance drops sooo random, but since they coming out with a Team Doubles playlists and all things are looking bright with the TU coming soon.

This is were atleast the majority of the community wants, it brings more fun into the game competitive or not. It’s like omost saying i really need to try and see how high i can actually get instead of going into matches and running around killing kids and such but nothing to show for it.

It’s not that I don’t like matchmaking its just that IMO it’s gotten stale (like all Halo’s eventually IMO) and I have more fun in Custom games and Spartan Ops which is were I am 78% of my time on
Halo 4.

The truth, it’s very stale and not Halo, it’s defiantly a fail.
Example:
Instant respawns.
Random Ordinance drops.
No de-scoping.
DMR being OP.
No one loadout ONLY BR example.

I get your complaints I have been playing online since Halo 2. sure I had fun with that Halo back in the day but even then matchmaking got tedious and I’d be bored after a while and I will admit that it has happened a lot faster than previous Halos but I still enjoy the new Halo from time to time.

Oh none taken, it is just a difference of opinion. I’m not against having it in-game, I just don’t feel like it is absolutely necessary to enjoy the game.
I wouldn’t go tossing around opinions claiming it is what the majority of the community wants though. I see plenty of people saying they actually don’t want it in-game or that they don’t care either way. There are very vocal people wanting it to be in-game, but there is absolutely no way of knowing if it is the majority or not. Especially since people can create multiple accounts to spam the forums…sadly it happens.
I will probably end up getting on waypoint to check my rank simply out of curiosity. I saw a pretty neat idea from someone in another thread:
Since your service tag can hold 4 characters, you can type your CSR there depending on what playlist you are going into. CSR1-CSR9 and then LV10-LV50.
Sure it is a bit of a roundabout way of getting it visible, but hey…it’ll be there.
> I see plenty of people saying they actually don’t want it in-game or that they don’t care either way. There are very vocal people wanting it to be in-game, but there is absolutely no way of knowing if it is the majority or not.
The “true Halo players” want it in because they actually see it as a reward of winning games, instead of the guy who plays the game here and there and instead decides to go play BLOPS 2 and not really care. They’re is a big difference. Being rewarded is always a good thing like it or not, unless your the casual player who doesn’t care if we started slayer games with rockets starts.
Right now they’re arn’t any rewards or goals set in Halo 4, it’s okay i’m gonna try and do my best whether it’s a lose or win. Even when your the best player with most kills on either team and you have to hold the rest of your teams weight. With ranks you get about the same EXPERIENCE, CLOSER COMPETITIVE OR FUNNER GAMES, AND IT’S ACTUALLY A REWARD FOR WINNING BY RANKING UP.
Sorry for caps, just simply stating facts here, that’s all.
This isn’t looking too good I did get the new crimson map pack obviously with the war games pass but they’re are only like 200 players playing it at night time and during the day they’re are roughly only about 500 people. Sadnening for me to say.
You really expect people to play crimson dlc over Grifball? Lololol there aren’t many on the playlist but a lot of people have the maps. I personally don’t think it’s worth it either so I didn’t get it. As for visible ranks, I want them because it gives me a reward besides 446 xp when I die and ruin my k/d while others camp and boost k/d in a game type like ctf. The need for ranks grows as the community changes. In halo 2, people played the objective so it felt competitive. Halo 4 not the case.
I think that if CSR would be a IN game visible number, a lot of players would return to the game. Not JUST because you have a nice number next to you or that it was something (yes it actually was) that made halo MP halo but also because a lot of people like a challenge.
What is more of a challenge than getting that rank 50 in a playlist that shows how good you are in either killing/teamwork/objective?
I sure do like a challenge… In H3 I looked at my rank frequently and wanted to improve, so I tried to get better and better, and that’s how I played a game for 3-4 years long, because I wanted to be good at the game!
It’s like trying to win a championship. Loads of people want to win it, if they don’t, they try to get better for the next one.
Point being; it’s not just a number, it’s a challenge!

The BR sucks,it allways has sucked, never liked it and don’t like it now.The only reason i use it is for the commendation, that’s all.I’d pick a plasma pistol over a stupid BR anyday
> You really expect people to play crimson dlc over Grifball?
Grifball really isn’t even that fun isn’t it about scoring a skull or whatever in the enemies base or yours? I would rather have one objectives back like 1/Flag and Assualt instead of Grifball any day.

I got the Limited also, the only good pieces of armor is the scanner helmet, which is my favorite, and the prime skin, and cryo pod was nice for my Halo CE avatar remake, and map pass is free maps… wait, lol, I love it, first limited i purchased, but i didn’t need legendary flames for reach since I got bungie flames later on anyways
> The “true Halo players” want it in because they actually see it as a reward of winning games, instead of the guy who plays the game here and there and instead decides to go play BLOPS 2 and not really care.
I REALLY have a problem with people saying this. I am a person that doesn’t care if the ranks are in game or not and I consider myself a “true Halo player.” I do not, and will not own BLOPS2 or any CoD game because they do not appeal to me. I have played every Halo since CE, I even pre-ordered Halo Wars, and have purchased every map pack except for ones on Reach. I play Halo 4 daily for at least a couple hours if time allows. If not, I still get some playtime in.
Simply categorizing those who don’t care if the rank is in the game or not as not being “true Halo players” is why people hate the so-called “competitive” community. That kind of arrogant attitude is one of the main reasons Frankie doesn’t like the in-game ranking system. It leads to a segregation of the community between the vast majority who play the game because they enjoy it and it is fun, and those who think they are better than everyone who is a lower rank.
I don’t need a number to tell me if I am doing better. I take my personal performance in each game as something to strive for. Not necessarily K/D but performing well on a game to game basis. If that means helping out teammates with assists or capturing a flag, so be it.
Instead of getting a reward for winning, winning the match IS the reward for playing well and helping out my team. Without ranks my games are really very fun, can be insanely competitive, teamwork still happens with randoms. Your caps were all opinions aside from the experience, but with the way they have upped the challenge xp, most people can be 130 long before CSR hits even if they don’t play every day.
BTW, Splockets is awesome (Rocket slayer), Action Sack is perfect for wacky gametypes if you just aren’t feeling up to playing 100% hardcore competitive matches all the time. I’m sure it happens to even the most hardcore of MLG whoevers.
> I don’t think the war games pass is worth it. I got the limited edition for the armor which also wasn’t worth it, I wonder how the console people feel providing they needed a new console anyway.
I purchased the console, partly because my old one was a bit too old, partly because I wanted to support Halo 4.
Do I regret buying the Halo 4 console? Yep. After the effort on Halo 4 I refuse to support 343i.
