I just played some Halo 2 online

> Around these forums I hear “We need to keep the classic Halo”. I’ll tell you what, I just played some online a few minutes ago, and no we don’t. Halo 2 (apparently your God) was a good game for it’s time and was fun to play. But it’s time to move on. I’m sorry but it’s the truth. For you die hard Halo 2 fans out there, remember Halo2sucks.com? Remember how those people never gave the game a chance and how much they missed out? That’s what your doing to Halo 4, so stop whining or you’re gonna miss out on a lot.

yet you have a Halo 2 avatar picture?

Halo 2 was great for its time and still remains great in my opinion. It was the best of all of the Halo games overall due to its brilliant campaign, stunningly fast-paced multiplayer and incredible soundtrack. Halo 2 is what Halo deserves to feel like and I hope Halo 4 has a similar tone but more gritty.

You can’t compare the experience you’re having now to the one you had 8 years ago.
Like a poster above mentioned, playing Halo 2 online now is like playing on Mexican host.

I’m not sure if you’re being serious but a lot of us would like Halo to retain it’s core
gameplay. ie NO FRICKIN ARMOR ABILITIES!

I believe in 343 though. They can’t take them out of the game because of contractual
reasons probably but I just know they’re listening to the competitive community.

Halo 2 is an amazing games and always will be. the maps are what made the multiplayer so awesome.

> Let them miss out, it will teach them a lesson perhaps.

somebody give this man a cookie

Once Halo 2 Anniversary with multiplayer comes out, we’ll see who’s playing what…

and of course OP speaks for ALL Halo players…

Pc’s can be fun but some of us just want to turn on the xbox, play online in a few minutes instead of spending 10 minutes for computer to turn on.lol

If my halo 2 was online for xbox with party chat I’d be playing it right now but because its on pc I barely play it since pc for me is mainly for 3d modeling, game design, other work related stuff so tend not to game much on pc.

OP obviously got destroyed when he couldn’t Armour Lock to safety from a superior skilled opponent.

I’ll place money that Halo 4 has more players. The same way people cried and moaned for a TU and classic playlist in Reach and what happened? Theres barely anyone in those playlists. Just another case of Halo try-hards just crying for the sake of crying.

> For me, Halo 3 was the revolutionary one. It has the best campaign, multiplayer, forge and custom games. Just the ultimate replay value all packed onto the one disc. I always preferred Halo 3 over any of the other Halo’s, I just can’t stand it when people say it is bad.

I personally preferred Halo 2’s Campaign, but I agree on your stance on Multiplayer. However, Forge in Reach is far better than Halo 3, and that is a fact. Forge in 3 was clunky and awkward, but in Reach, there are three different modes for everyone’s play style.

For me it’s not so much we need a Re-Hash of the classic Multiplayer’s.

It’s more of a matter of I want the New series to be as defining and revolutionary and groundbreaking, as the original Series… I want people in 2022 to say “Hey!.. Lets make 343 make a Remake of Halo 4. They can call it… Halo 4 Anniversary Edition!”.

So in other words i want the same experience but NOT the same game…

Well its not what you’d think it be for a haloreachsucks.com…

Are you seriously trying to compare XBC/XLK to XBL? Just get out.

Agreed played H2V maybe it’s just the port but god even halo reach is a lot better, I’m sorry that game is just outdated I want something fresh and the halo 4 animated key art gave me all the hope in the world (hint it was amazing to know the music was still great) we have hardly learned anything about halo 4 in detail, so it’s hard to judge I, for one like these changes (even custom classes :O)

So you just played a couple of games of halo 2 online and this somehow elevates your understanding of the classic halo experience? Then you go and sarcastically compare Halo 2 to being someone’s “God”. That remark alone in itself is distasteful in more ways than one. Please, cut the garbage.

You must not understand how halo2sucks.com came about… That site was made by halo 1 fans that disliked halo 2, for a multitude of reasons. How in the world is someone to miss out on something that they dislike, if they truly dislike it? I hate squash and even if you force feed me squash I may not be “missing out” on it, but I certainly will not enjoy the experience. So if you like squash and enjoy eating it, in your eyes I am missing out on an amazing vegetable. In my eyes however, I am dodging a bullet and will happily find some other form of nutrition to put in my body.

Halo 4 is like an upcoming dinner in a normal household. Everyone at the dinner table is going to get the same exact meal. Sure there will be salt and pepper, as well as other things to change the main course somewhat, in the end, however, the main course will still be the dominant taste in the meal. Now imagine that your least favorite dish is sitting right in front of you and there is no way in hell you can enjoy it. All the while everyone at the table loves the meal and are telling you that it is amazing and that you are “missing out”. Think about how that feels…

Empathy, I urge you to look it up.

Just because classic halo does not appeal to you, does not mean that everyone else feels the same way you do. If exercised (empathy that is) you might find it entirely possible that “getting over” classic halo might be much harder to some than others. I am not asking for you to agree with my views (or others) on the benefits and joys of classic halo. Rather, I am asking that you make an effort to at least listen and attempt to understand why some people enjoy and play classic halo.

If that is your only, or one of your few, multiplayer experience with Halo 2, then that tells me all I need to know about your opinion on “classic Halo.”

Literally just got off of Halo 2 PC. Just wanted to revisit it. I have to say, I’m very much fine with the direction Halo has moved since then. To be honest, I’d get bored if it was the same thing.

This little post is just as sad as whom you are attempting to insult. Listen up hoss, you obviously did not play H2 since you refer to it as “ours” so you have zero room to blurb out an opinion.

There IS such a thing as a perfect game and H2 IS the closest we will ever see in terms of competitive multiplayer goes. Adding mechanics or adapting them from other successful titles just to make it “fresh” does NOT mean the game will be better. Look at Reach… Would you honestly say that is was a step above what we had in H3? Nope. Different, yes… Better? NO.

Halo 2 is amazing, both story and multiplayer wise. But i think H4 will be really good too! Ofc alot of people want it too stay the same and keep that HCE-H3 feel because it worked and gave halo it´s own personality ( wich i love ). But still im staying very positive about H4 and i think that people that just complain about everything miss out alot! 343 is doing a good job to keep halo alive and i can´t wait to play H4!

Btw, how many people play H2 Pc ? im thinking of buying it, but want to know how many people still play it?

Double btw Nero-doomsday

OP speaks the truth. I will NEVER forget the times I spent in Halo CE. But at some point, you have to move on and… well, adapt.
But damn, do I miss the Jesus gun.
