I Just Need An Answer

First of all I’m not gonna rip the goofy controls because there’s been a billion threads about it. I just have a question if the patch on the controllers has been released yet? I didn’t play enough to start and then pick it back up again to notice if there was a difference or not. I just wanted to know if I’m gonna forever suck at aiming or if you can personally cut down on the extra speed the aiming stick has after you move it about 50 percent. I went 2 and 18 last night with 9 assists cuz I was spazzing all over the place and before I get bombarded with hatetrains, I’m not complaining I know I suck. I just want to know if I need to just start practicingmore with this new feel aiming or if I customize the aiming a bit like people rumored the patch would do.

There was a controller update with the new dashboard a little while ago. A bit of practice might help but I don’t experience the problems because I’m a low sensitivity player.

I was kinda like you, I can only make a few suggestions.
1.) update your controller if you have not done so in the past 30 days.
2.) I got Kontrol Freak grips and was shocked at how they actually helped me not only in Halo but other games.
3. ) if you play on a big TV 46in or bigger try to move to a smaller TV 30in or smaller. I went from a 52 down to a 24in PC monitor. And that has made the biggest difference. Not sure why. It could be the 6ms response time that I now have. it could be I no longer need glasses. to view. or simply because the screen is smaller so My eyes don’t have to move as much across the screen to view things. Or some combination of all the above. But it has made a huge difference.
Those 3 things might help you. Can’t promise it will though.

For some reason the controller update only updated when I plugged in my mic

I found that I needed to lower my sensitivity recently but although aiming is still tougher than previous games I did manage 28 kills on SWAT yesterday (including 24 headshots). I am playing on 48" TV - may drop down to playing this on my 32" to see if that helps.

Probably a dumb question, but how do you update your controller? Or do you mean buy another one? I play on a 49 inch which might be part of my extra suck but I was also terrible on a smaller tv too haha. I’d just like to get as much of an advantage as possible because I keep getting put in platinum levels even though I been dragging my teams down real bad and it’s embarrassing. Especially when I have a guy’s shields all the way down, I haven’t been hit once, and still get killed by him because I can’t aim worth a -Yoink-. I went from supreme college halo player leading teams to enemies chasing after my name because they know they will get an easy kill and a laugh watching me make a -Yoink- out of myself.

There’s an app on your Xbox One called Xbox accessories or something like that. That’s where you update it.

Here is your answer…
The aiming with the “stock” controller absolutely sucks even with a look sensitivity of 1. Even a look sensitivity of 1 is still way to fast. The only way to get more control of the pipper is to buy the Xbox elite controller…you can adjust the sensitivity of the sticks. Once you do this you will go, at a minimum, 10 and 3 every game you play. Because every one else is fighting with their “stock” controller.

You update your controller by using a usb cord and plug it into your XB1 , go into settings and accessories/devices. and then choose to update it only takes a few minutes.

lolololol. I was going to post something similar.

We all need an Answer in our lives.

I don’t know what sensitivity you play on but this is the first Halo in which I DON’T play on 4. i actually have it on 2. Helps a lot with sniping and with swat/pistol aiming.

It can feel a little slow at times but I feel it helps.

Play a lower sensitivity, I honestly don’t have any of these problems, you may play other fps at a higher sensitivity but they are probably twitch shooters, Halo is a tactical shooter so it should be played at a lower sensitivity.

I always played on the standard sensitivity in Halo, but with H5 i needed to turn it up to 4 or 5. I did do the controller update but still like the sensitivity where I have it now.

I got an appetite for destruction but I would love an answer as well!

Thanks for all the help guyzzz. I didn’t know you could update the controller. I’ve always been an 8-10 sensitivity level halo player. Crazy but I actually was pretty darn good at that high. Helped bail me out a lot when I was shot in the back first and not take a lifetime to turn around. I’ve gone way low with the sensitivity to help me aim better but i still struggle controling my aim if i tilt the stick more than halfway. Still too fast for my aiming skills. I’ll try the update and hope that the aiming controls will feel more natural than they have been thus far. Side Note.

Well played sir…I really want to unlock that meaty death dealing dish of destruction. Even with my poor aim I could prolly go at least 5 and 20 with that bad boy =D
