i Just Had an EPIPHANY

Here I am on these forums trying to calm everyone down. Everyones freaking out because Halo 4 changed this and it changed that and i heard someone say this. it didn’t take 30 minutes before the forums were flooded with reasons why the game is going to be terrible and how it isn’t Halo enough and all this nonsense and gibberish that we are basing off a grand total of 30 seconds worth of gameplay and a few non descriptive interviews.

I found it ridiculous. That someone could write off a game based on such little concrete detail. Was it because of how Reach turned out? Or is it just nastalgia blinding rage.

Yea I worried. I thought oh no here we go again. The community is going to get rattled and people are going to be arguing and complaining just like Reach.

Now I’m not worried. Because I just realized that this Halo 4…this source of all our conflict…is a game.

Do you not realize that? Halo 4 is a game. It is meant for enjoyment. I was getting way too worked up over something that is supposed to be fun. When in all honesty from what I’ve seen. It looks gorgeous, and it also looks fun.

So 343 wants to add perks and armor abilities or whatever. I’m just going to play the game. 343 may absolutely screw us. They may completely abandon the Halo formula, and hell it may even be fun or it could be terrible like everyone is saying. Or people could be overreacting and the game is everything we could ever hope for.

I’m just not going to care. I’m not going to leave the forum because I can’t take the heat and I’m not going to make posts about killing myself because I saw someone sprint in a video game. I’m not going to cry because i heard the word perk, and I’m not going to worry in anguish because i heard a whisper of an armor ability.

I’m going to be optomistic about everything, get excited over the new features, and wait patiently for the sequel to my favorite game of all time. When I play it for myself and finally get to experience it, then and only then will I be able to be dissapointed.

Even if its a little different, I can’t wait for Halo 4, and I can’t wait to see what other ways 343 is going to spice things up.

I think it looks awesome. And well, to be quite frank (see what I did there), there’s no way it can be WORSE than Reach… =)

At least the campaign looks better than Reach’s in the few seconds we have of it.

Well let’s not get philosophical about this. Many of us understand this is just a game, but Halo is also a game that many of us have poured years into. We love what it was and we thoroughly enjoyed playing it. With Reach’s changes many became disinterested and just didn’t enjoy it anymore. Now Halo 4 is supposedly bringing back those elements again and it’s just reminding us that the Halo that we loved once upon a time–that had a chance to come back–won’t be coming back. Along with that our enjoyment of Halo won’t be coming back. So it may be just a game, but many are feeling a sense of loss here.

I’m sure the Campaign will be fantastic. The negativity you’re seeing on this forum right now is almost solely directed at the multiplayer.

I love how it looks! Halo 4 will be awesome!!!

i also enjoy milk and wine but not a the same time.
Halo is starting to look more and more like milk, it’s getting sour

All I have to say is…

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

That’s all.

And it’s disappointing to say the least.
