HI all,
So I just lost a game of SWAT (was rated as a Plat 1) and am now a Gold 6! I thought that once you reached the next level you couldn’t drop in CSR?
'Has anyone seen this before? I have been playing since launch and this is new to me.
Any thoughts or helpful information would be great.

I am aware that Plat 1 isn’t great.

Yeah that’s normal, you have to either earn your way up, or gradually rank down. It’s nothing new, so you’re good. Just go and re-earn your rank.
I understand the ranking system, however previously once you reach the next bracket (Silver, Gold, Plat etc.) you can’t drop down in brackets in that season.
Am I wrong in this?
From the original Halo Waypoint CSR update:
“Losing games will cause your progress within a rank to decrease, but you will never drop down a whole rank from losing. For example if you spend all month working your way into silver, losing won’t drop you back to bronze”

It is entirely new for this season. Previously as the OP stated, you couldn’t drop down a division.

No it’s new for this season. Many people are annoyed about it, others like it. I personally don’t care anymore,

Well hell, here I was all relaxed thinking “I can’t drop below Platinum” lol

its not just you, its happening to a lot of us, and its supposed to happen
It happened to me I dropped from platinum to gold. Safe to say I was pissed about it.
Yeah the same. I went down from Diamond to Platinum 6. Now every other game in Slayer I’m either a platinum 6 or a Diamond 1.
Huh, I remember when I was trying to get bronze, I hit silver, and I couldn’t go down to bronze. This a new thing?
Demotions are, and always have been a thing. You can go from champion to bronze 1 if you lose that much.

Before the fall season you could fall in rank to the bottom of your tier but you couldn’t drop to a lower tier. The fall season changed it to where you could actually fall to a lower tier. They mentioned it in the message of the day awhile ago but I think that’s the only place where they posted that information.
I went from gold 1 to bronze 1 in SWAT. When that happened, I gave up on trying to figure out the ranking system. Now I don’t worry too much and seem to be doing better.
