I bought the Limited Edition of Halo 4, that is 40 extra dollars with the intent that I would get the map packs for free, as well as other content, as it includes the War Games Pass.

Now, as the map pack was released today, I went to download it and could not find where to download it for free, -Yoink- I already have the Season Pass. Every link told me to pay MSP for it.

So, naturally, I google it, to find out that they are having issues and it will be resolved shortly.

That’s no big deal, I can wait a few days to get it for free.

So, how do they resolve it?

The map pack is now free to everyone. Meaning that those who bought the Seasons Pass or Limited Edition completely wasted their money.

I loved the campaign, I thought the story was amazing. But the lack of attention to Forge, un-balanced weapons, crappy maps, recycled Spops maps, and the boring narrative in Spops are just ruining my Halo 4 experience.

This, however is the last straw. All though I feel disappointed with certain aspects of the game, I never felt like I was ripped off or wasted my money. Even when I found out that the so called “exclusive” Specializations were being handed out to anyone who played the game a month after it’s release. It’s kind of hard to be exclusive when the Specs are publicly released before most LE buyers even get a chance to start their first Specialization.

Until now. Other people are getting content for free that I pre-paid for. I really hope they have some way of re-compensating those who bought the Limited Edition, and those who bought the Seasons Pass, because, if they don’t, they will have thousands of mad, disappointed fans.

Fix your mess, 343, don’t make excuses, don’t apologize, just fix your damn mess, and give everyone their wasted money back.

Its not 343’s fault its on Microsoft’s end, they are in charge of distributing dlc on the marketplace and also were the ones that did the specialisations promotion.

Map pack isnt free it was a glitch, xbox lives fault, they even admitted to it. As for forge, certain infinity was in charge, and they’ve been in charge since halo 3 with forge.

Can you elaborate more? Where they who 343 talked to about what to do in it? are they in charge of approving maps for matchmaking on forge maps?

I don’t care who is to blame here, I want compensation. They dropped the ball and their most loyal customers got screwed over. Fix it. Now.

I don’t want to hear about what a roaring success the map pack is in the next Bulletin, BS Angel. I want to hear what your plans are for compensation to those who paid for something that was free anyway.

As far as I know, the glitch is still happening. You will either be compensated with points or something else like SpOps Season 2. As far as specializations go, the LE granted “Exclusive EARLY access.” Meaning you can access them before everyone else, not that only you can access them.

There were plenty of people that got through SR50 before the codes were sent out, I was partway through Wetwork when the codes were released (I didn’t buy the LE) and I never used a single match of double xp.

The $40 you spent was really for the inserts, FuD thing, the metal case and other stuff in the LE.

Besides, people who bought the game after the 20th and anyone that doesn’t live in the US don’t have access to the specializations at all. There is no word on when they will be made available to everyone, but it will happen.

Yes, MS messed up and I could definitely see them compensating those people.

Posting angry threads on Waypoint isn’t going to get anything done. Talk to MS support, but keep your cool. No one likes having to deal with insanity. They will let us know if there is any plan. If they don’t plan on doing anything…well…tough cookies. Yeah, it stinks but once that call is made there is nothing you can do about it.

Certain affinity takes care of the forge, mainly forge tools and so forth aspect of halo games since halo 3. They were started by a number of ex bungie employees.

HOLY CRAP!!! why are you complaining!!! I payed for the maps too by the way, but I love how people are getting the maps for free because now you will be more likely to be paired with people who have the DLC in ALL PLAYLIST. Honestly, I would encourage people to download the maps for free ASAP before they fix it.

I agree OP, people who spent money on LE have been shafted so damn hard. I have a strong feeling they won’t do anything to make it right… they should, but I doubt they will. If they don’t, I hope Bungie’s next game is good, because as nice as Halo 4 looks, shafting the most loyal Halo fans(who has been buying Halo merchandise, limited editions of games, ect.) is a good way to piss people off.

If it is opened from the in game marketplace it will open directed to the confirm download screen, where it’ll be marked free. Normal marketplace isn’t broken.

It’s -Yoinking!- disgusting, 343’s and Microsoft’s handling of this franchise has been downright pathetic and completely unprofessional. They better get their act together. As it stands we have gotten absolutely nothing other than some cheap booklet for the extra money we paid for the Limited Edition.
