I just can't bring myself to care about multiplayer and here is why

You know I could be wrong, but I think even the individual people who work on whatever game get frustrated too because it comes down to things making it and things being scrapped due to whatever reason.

I’ve heard even 343 people in this inside aren’t happy about the free cosmetics system. Look at the recent event we had, they had to apologize and say that it was a marketing error.

I guess these things happen, but like you said when it happens over and over people just find other hobbies.

(Now I’m just joking and being mean) hell, Roblox probably has a better stats recording system :joy:

There is no doubt about it that corporate makes the lives of the devs miserable. And then idiots on the internet criticize the devs on top of it. And they attack them personally.

The reality of it is that the corporate scumbags make life miserable for both the developers and the players.

I really do appreciate the developers, I just don’t like the direction that they’ve gone with Halo for the last two games, and I don’t want to see this one end up the same way.

Despite many people saying that the core gameplay is great and all they need to do is make progression better, I heavily disagree on the view that the core gameplay is good and I quickly found myself not having any motivation to play. People have this tunnel visioned view that once the progression stuff gets better then suddenly the overall game will become better, and that’s just not true, at least imo.

What does it matter if the progression stuff is better if directional audio in Ranked still sucks, making me not having a great experience in Ranked and making me never to want to play Ranked, but at the same time being forced by the game to play Ranked if I want to play BR-start game modes?

What does it matter if the progression stuff is better if desync issues continue to exist?

What does it matter if the progression stuff is better if the game on PC is still in shambles due to the horrible optimization and lack of any general knowledge of the PC platform? I mean ffs, I plugged in my controller into my PC and my Campaign save file got corrupted. I also can’t even change my keybinds because it never works.

The game has tons of problems that make me have no motivation to play. And it’s sad because friends ask me to play and I say no because I’m just not going to support this game in the current state. Friends, online randoms, can make me out to be this negative unsatisfied person, and that’s cool, but I know what I stand for, so respectfully everyone can go eff themselves.

Okay. I definitely didn’t know about the PC issues. I’ve been playing on a series s. As far as the directional audio goes I can’t really agree with you there and I don’t understand what kind of problem you might be having. I never have a problem in discerning the direction of gunfire, even though I’m using stereo headset.

But yeah, they already said they’re going to give more different game types, so hopefully some of them will also be BR start. And there are some other issues with matchmaking. Don’t get me wrong. I just feel like the core gameplay is still feels like old school Halo, and that’s where I needed it to be.

Never hearing footsteps. Never hearing gunshots, even something as loud as a RL. Never hearing grenades. And because Ranked takes away the radar you rely more on audio, yet the audio in this game sucks.

I know I’m not alone with this either as I’ve played with friends who say the same, not to mention many people online say the same.

The reason I tunnel vision with non-gameplay stuff, is that networking hiccups are going to happen in any multiplayer game this new, and I expect them to fix that right away. But the rest of the problems aren’t little hiccups, they’re horrible design flaws. The entire systems involved in this game are a complete mess, and I can’t say the same thing about the gameplay. It just has some issues.

I don’t understand what the technical difference between my setup and yours is, because obviously I have no Idea what your setup is like, but I 100% don’t have any problems with audio. Nothing like you’re describing at all. I bait and trap people with footsteps all the time.

I promise I’m not being condescending when I say this, but you might want to check your audio settings on either your computer or your Xbox.

Have a look on the Halo Support site for info on headphone issues:

Idk, I disagree about the gameplay having only little issues. But I guess you have your opinions and I have mine.

I’m using a $200 headset, and I know other people using the same kind or even better who say the same thing.

Fact of the matter is there are problems specifically in Halo Infinite that I’ve never experienced in any other games.

Hell Go ahead and Track me, I’m a solid Bronze 6 at best lol. GT is Simmons216… Seriously how my butt got to platinum is beyond me. I barely have time to play sometimes so I have to crunch my challenges I to a day or two lol.

I’m using a $35 headset and I can hear everything perfectly.

What I’m saying is the multiplayer problems are things they have to tweak to fix, and the systems they have to entirely redesign. It’s not like they have to entirely redesign the multiplayer to get it to work right. It’s just different scopes of problems.

You don’t think I never thought to do that?

I’m someone who likes to keep everything up-to-date and I’m constantly checking for updates.

People can say it’s a me issue all they want, but I know I’m not alone.

yeah, having 1 ranked playlist is kinda dumb. halo 5 had the right playlists. bring that back.

I barely touched Halo 5, but I know the playlists and reach and three were great.

Again, still I disagree. But again, you have your opinion and I have mine.

You said Infinite’s MP feels like classic Halo and I don’t agree with that at all.

You didn’t mention that you’d checked the Support site and it’d be silly of me to assume you had. Sorry their suggested workarounds didn’t work for you

What do you feel like the differences are?

To me the stuff that feels the same is like the BR and AR ttk, And the feeling of smacking someone with a sword, and the ball slap with the oddball…

Honestly, I think it just boils down to me not liking 343’s take on Halo and how different they design their games compared to Bungie.

I won’t deny that I’m a Bungie fanboy, but I will say that anyone who thinks that I look back on Bungie’s games with rose-tinted glasses doesn’t know anything about me. If I’m still playing Bungie’s Halo games TO THIS DAY then clearly that says something, whereas 343’s Halo games aren’t even a thought that crosses my mind. Even with Infinite out I’d still rather play Halo 2 and Halo 3 because those are actually fun, whereas I don’t think Infinite is any fun, sorry. I can tolerate Infinite more than I was able to tolerate Halo 5, which wasn’t much because I quit Halo 5 very early on, but I don’t love Infinite.

Dude, I can’t stand 343s halos at all. the game I put the most time into is reach if that tells you anything. Everybody likes to talk trash about reach, but look at that compared to this game and tell me it’s bad. I literally played five just long enough to play the story, played five matches in multiplayer, and I was like nope.

But yeah, I also put like thousands of hours into Halo 3 also.
