I just can't bring myself to care about multiplayer and here is why

BRO REALLY? Nah it’s cool! I am super busy myself. I have HS to worry about. But yeah, SWAT RANKED? Totally would main it. I’d dominate in that mode on MnK since mouse go skrr with flickity flicks haha.

Okay, I’m going to have to meet you halfway on this opinion. Because having scope glare gives people crutches before they can even start to develop the skill to spot people. And spotting people is something that you can develop and get better at, regardless of eyesight. Because honestly in order to spot an opponent it’s half predicting whether they’re going to be there, and then taking a quick second to verify it. But I suppose there is a ceiling to that skill that is kind of artificially imposed by having better eyesight. Which ironically enough I don’t even have 20/20 vision, and don’t have any corrective equipment. So I’m really playing devil’s advocate, but I also had extremely sharp reflexes and good spotting skills from years of playing SWAT despite my bad eyesight.

Damn. Your comment gave me a good laugh. I needed that.

I’m an absolute walking meme.

Everybody loves a good meme. Unless it’s what your favorite first person shooter franchise turns into. :joy:

Yeah see that type of “spotting” you’re referring to, I agree. That’s about realizing that you’re seeing a person and acting quickly based on it. And I do agree, scope glare does give players a crutch for that particular skill.

I’m more talking about a the sort of camouflage spotting, as in someone who is a dark color is standing against a darkly colored wall and I could look at that picture for 10 seconds and have no idea there’s a person there because my eyes just don’t pick it up, especially if they aren’t moving. I could practice that day and night for years and never get any better at it, because it’s just a matter of poor visual clarity. That’s why the bright red and blue of Halo was always nice, because it never blends in to the background. It’s why the new outline system, while a somewhat helpful change, is problematic because it allows players to have an armor coating that blends into the walls or the foliage, and no matter how quick or predictive I am, I simply can’t see the difference between the slightly different green pixels of the person from the green pixels of the grass at a distance.

And in my opinion, giving a crutch on some skills is always worth making the game cater less away from people with a certain issue. For example, I wish there were options at least to make every possible audio cue in the game show up as a clear visual cue, because then deaf people could effectively play the game. I think that’s just morally right, if not a smart move for the product.

BF 2042 is a meme, a crappy one. Ooh, COD Vanguard too! Bro, I stg, two of them, absolutely GOT MEMED ON by the gaming community. WE BACK AT FULL FORCE BABY WITH HALO INFINITE

Okay yeah I get that. We were talking about two completely different things at first. And yeah, the ability to spot opponents against certain backgrounds is like 100% psychological. Like you just can’t condition yourself to do that. So yeah I agree with you.

Damn… Craig… You had one job.

I think Joe Staten is a better meme but a wholesome one. HE IS SO COOL

Haha, nice. I’m going to have to pay more attention to the dev streams and stuff, I’m just so busy between game pass, working, and all the games I play coming out with really good patches.

Ah yeah, I’m fully committed to Halo, it’s my only game to play and main. Trying to practice Halo jumps, map calls, studying HCS is just my favorite thing to do in my past-time. All while improving my abilities ingame.

That’s awesome. I’ve never really hung out with people that had like pro ambitions, but I’m cool with it. I’m sort of somewhere in between like… I guess you would call it casual, and competitive. Because I really really like pushing my KD spread as high as I can get it, but I don’t care about going pro at all. I’m too old for that now.

I’m casually competitive myself, I don’t particularly have pro ambitions.

I just love to compete at tournament-level to the point where I can making gaming a fun side-gig and I did that for awhile with Apex.

Winning atleast $500+ until my comp team slipped off after 3 months of playing together. Hoping to construct a new one and IGL for it too.

I love trying to push for high KDR every game.

Cool stuff! I just can’t wait until we get ranked playlists. I’m going to be so grindy and sweaty that people will think it’s a nightclub.

Why don’t you just take pictures of your stats at the end of games or write them down?

Incentives? It’s a free game! That’s the incentive! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Don’t take me seriously  I’m sort of joking

But you’re right, the old games had these perks, what changed? You would of thought technology only gets better. Yet we get less and less features :skull_and_crossbones:

Yeah games as a service games launch in a pathetic state, completely stripped of features, while the developers arrogantly think oh everything’s just going to be okay. Look at how well that worked for Marvel’s avengers. And anthem. People are tired of it.

I think I get the feeling what this post says. It’s like yeah Halo Infinite’s multiplayer kicks -Yoink!-, but with the way you progress in the BP and earning content (I am not willing to buy $10 for half of the Reach armor missing/locked behind), the challenges make things a bit frustrating especially the ranked matches where I have to complete them. I’m not very good at ranked so I’m just participating by simply doing my best and regardless helping my team or not. Just want those experience points you know?

Side note: I’m so livid that BTB is experiencing some heavy issues with the servers and how everyone connects. BTB is my favorite playground because I can feel like I’m sort of the army in one person.

The core gameplay is solid. But BTB is definitely one of the many things that needs to be improved badly.
