So I was in a Poll discussion a few days ago and it was about the Smart Scope and there were quite a few people who didn’t know that u can change the the controller schemes to the classic controller scheme which allows u to use the Smart Scope like the classic zoom which is the right analog stick. So for some of the people who played the beta they might of got stuck with the Cod-ish controller scheme which is left trigger to zoom. So maybe for some but not all the people who complain about the Smart Scope might of not known of this and got stuck with the Cod-ish controller scheme and it may of affected how the beta felt. Because I tried the default controller scheme and the classic and it made a difference in how it felt significantly. So I hope this thread was helpful to you and see you in the War Games simulation.

Which is exactly what I did. The default controls are -Yoinking!- awful.
I like the default. Having a Destiny/COD style layout makes changing between games less jarring.

The defaults post-H3 controls have always been awful.
Recon (and Bumper Jumper, I guess) are the only ways to play Halo.
I don’t mind using LT to aim but then I realize that the grenade button is different and to me it’s too much nope.
It’s all about dat Fishstick control scheme.
Always been a Bumper Jumper kind of guy anyway so I’m good to go!

Does anyone have an outline of the control schemes offered in Halo 5 including what buttons you can change/swap?

Whats the problem for making it easier to switch between games? They dont even function the same…
The Elite Controller will offer people even further customization options for their preferred style of play.

exactly, Halo 5 plays more like Halo than Reach or 4.

Nowhere did I say Halo is becoming CoD… You’re trying to start an argument… The control scheme does appeal to those who play Cod, Battlefield.

True, but $150 is a pretty steep purchase for a controller. I wouldnt spend that much on a turtle beach headset either despite it’s advantages.

It’s the tone and the general comparison. But is it meant to appeal to CoD and BF players? Or is it meant to appeal to those who want to jump in immediately expecting it to play like a shooter? LT as zoom is just a common standard for shooters now.

Calling it a gimmick that appeals to CoD players doesn’t sound too supportive and seeing as how there are a lot of people saying Halo is becoming CoD, I see where he’s coming from.
