I hope we get new Promethean stuff as well

I would love to see concept art from Halo 5 realized in Halo Infinite; a mech, a melee weapon, and the long awaited Forerunner tank would be great additions. All the Banished additions look great, but I hope the Promethean side of the sandbox isn’t forgotten about too!

I only played 4 when 343 took over and didn’t play 5 but I heard 343 handled prometheans better in 5. In 4 and out of every faction they are my least favorite to fight for many reasons including design and movement etc. I might be interested a little more if the designs were tweaked to actually seem like they belong in Halo and they didn’t feel cheap to fight.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Prometheans are completely absent from the game at launch. Everything we’ve seen so far (in gameplay, toys, concept art, etc) has only showcased the UNSC/Banished/Covenant factions, so I’m expecting that’s what the focus is for the base game. They could be a surprise addition, but if its not shown at E3 then I’m assuming it won’t be in the base game.

Having said that, I would LOVE for them to do the Forerunner tank, and even bring back Prometheans (hopefully a bit redesigned to fit the “new” artsyle), but since Inifinte is a “10 year game” I’m almost certain that if they do show up it would be in an expansion down the road. I’m also half-expecting the campaign to end with a new threat emerging, be it the Flood or Prometheans or whatever, but I don’t think either will have a major focus in the initial campaign. But I would love for 343 to prove me wrong!

If the prometheans return I hope 343 gives them good redesign.

In 5 they looked very similar but were much more fun to fight. Knights were upgraded to more of a Hunter-esque roll and given weak spots which made them less of a bullet sponge, and the Soldier class was introduced to basically be the Promethean version of Elites. If they altered the aesthetic I think they’d fit nicely back in the sandbox.

I’ve been playing the Campaign again to tick off as Legendary.

With the tincture of time…

  1. I am actually enjoying the story. Without the raw disappointment of failing to live up to it’s pre-game hype it’s solid/ok. No where near as bad as I remembered it.

  2. Fighting the Prometheans is nowhere near as frustrating. I’m a better player now. I can use slide / thrust. I’m more comfortable using some of their weapons (the light rifle is actually a beast). And I’ve got the timing for when they briefly fall apart and your shots go through them. Shoot, shoot, hesitate, shoot… and they are dead. Seems much less frustrating.

Not enjoying the Warden though. :frowning:

Seeing the Forerunner Tank appear is a good idea. There’s many more scrapped content that can become canonized whether it’s in the games or other media parts of the Halo Lore.

they need to change the prometheans i dont like how they work dont seem forerunner to me for example the crawler.

Why not? Crawlers seem perfectly designed to engage with Flood in underground burrows or confined spaces that something like a Sentinel might struggle against. There isn’t just one set Forerunner design.

I have done the same recently and had exactly the same thoughts. The biggest issue I have with them is the lack of feedback when you are damaging them as they don’t flinch (which makes sense, being ‘robots’), but overall they are not as bad as they once seemed.
