I hope missions are like CE

We know really next to nothing about Halo Infinite, it’s 16-18 months away. Something I do hope Infinite does is have the Campaign be like CE. Beginning with the 2nd mission Halo, the levels are quite large. They’re not open world, but still pretty big, which you can explore to an extent. I would love missions like this, where’s it’s linear but you can really take different paths and the levels are big. What’d you think, would you like the missions to be like this?

I would love that caswell and I miss being able to go almost anywhere especially since there’s kill barriers

343 put up a job posting a while back requesting someone with RPG experience. This isn’t a definitive answer to whether or not Infinite will have RPG elements, but perhaps it could mean that Infinite will have more RPG elements like an open level design, akin to the second mission of CE or the Silent Cartographer, like you are hoping. I would love to see more CE-style gameplay with a simpler sandbox, more open exploration, and more mystery. Thankfully, everything we have seen thus far suggests these are well within the realm of possibility, but it’s just too soon to tell.

That’s what I’m hoping for too. I’d like it if they were even big/spread out enough that they could put in some optional objectives, thinking along the lines of Crysis.

Minus the backtracking (last three missions) and overblown encounters (a dozen rocket Flood on TB), of course.

I’d like to see more special/unique units defending key positions (like the gold Elite in the HCE SC cutscene, the Chieftain at the start of H3 Covie beach). Zealots used to be a rarer sight. Nowadays they’re treated like Stealth Elites (last I checked). Of course, H2 has treated them the worst by toning down their aggression/capabilities.

I didn’t mind the backtracking in CE. I thought it was neat returning to familiar areas of the game and seeing them now infested with Flood. This happened in 3 too with The Storm and Floodgate, which I also liked.

Anyway, I want larger and more open levels as well.

I really hope this happens.
It made the game more interactive and believable and allowed the ibtroduction of more interesting events / encounters.

This along with a bunch of other old festures / gameplay elements please!

Expansive levels >> Open-world, for Halo.

That would be awesome - however some levels on Halo: CE were kind of repetitive in my opinion, like you would play through an entire level just go back-trace the entire level again. But I definitely get your point and agree!

i agree, i would love to see the Halo missions take the pillars of the Halo CE campaign

It would be great if it is, back to the originals.
