I hope halo 4 gives me that feeling

that i didn’t feel since halo 3…

the only reason people are saying to make this game similar to halo 3 or halo 2 or even halo 1 sometimes is just because halo reach lacked a lot of the halo feel.

The graphics were upped in textures and polys in halo reach, but they were all scratchy and worn out looking and didn’t have much saturation and the color theme wasn’t what we were used to… graphics aside,

another thing i am worried about is music
take a moment to listen to any length of this video halo reach menu music
while that was a great song, it wasn’t fit for a menu music for halo.

It just CAN NOT compare to any of the original trilogy menu music, take halo 2 for example: halo 2 menu music Halo 2’s menu conveyed so much emotion that it made you begin to care about the game. And this magical soundtrack doesn’t end there, it goes on into the campaign of all 4 of these games. and while halo reach did have great music, it was a lot more of its own music theme instead of following the halo music theme… heres another example: example if you just heard that in at walgreens (lol?) before halo reach was released, would you say “wow, this sounds a lot like halo music!” because to me it would just sound like good epic music… not very piano-ey and halo-ey… and now im listening to the Halo 4 concept art trailer, and it seems like they are staying out of the piano and orchestra theme that sounded similar to the original trilogy :frowning:

Another thing would be to keep that cartoony feel, but definately keep that realistic feel too. I don’t know what it was… maybe the spartans were bulkier in halo 1 2 and 3? If anything Halo CEA proved that 343i is able to pull off really great graphics that retain the halo look.

One LAST THING, PLEASE KEEP MASTER CHIEF BADASS AND CARELESS! but still honorable and very caring at the same time. nothing gave me more chills than when master chief said “I need a weapon” or when he said “tell that to the covenant” in halo 2’s 1st cutscene, or “giving the Covenant back their bomb” that one just gives me chills!

Well that’s just about it… please make halo 4 feel like halo again

I hope they do too.

Yeah, I know what you mean, Halo: Reach skewed what was known as Halo into something else, and almost tried to make it a more modern shooter also with a more grounded approach with the story and characters. The music shows this as well portraying Reach to be about military might and very SPARTAN-themed as well as they struggle through the gauntlet to save Reach, and then tragedy as the Covenant lay waste to the planet. As opposed to mystery, and what you were going to discover next, and what new enemies/allies or what other extra-terrestrial world you would encounter.

Overall, I felt it was a good game, even though it did have its flaws, I still had lots of fun playing it.

But for Halo 4, I think it will be different, it won’t deliver the same feeling as either judging by the concept art trailer music, but instead a sense of mystery, desertion, and terror of what’s to come next.

> The graphics were upped in textures and polys in halo reach, but they were all scratchy and worn out looking and didn’t have much saturation and the color theme wasn’t what we were used to…

Agreed. But at least the anti-aliasing was better than what was in Halo 3.

> now im listening to the Halo 4 concept art trailer, and it seems like they are staying out of the piano and orchestra theme that sounded similar to the original trilogy :frowning:

They need music in Halo 4 similar to Headstrong in Halo 2. Plus yes Halo needs the piano and orchestra theme because Halo has had that throughout 1, 2 and 3.

That’s because in Reach they’re Spartan 111s. Chief is a Spartan II and as such is noticeable bigger in proportion and height. Halo CEA’s graphics were not as good as they could have been, plus Sergeant Johnson looked plain weird. He looked better in Halo 3.

Reach’s graphics just with a more vibrant colour scheme and less of a dismal one.

You couldn’t be more right

Chief definitely needs to stay badass but have that moral character that he’s always seem to have had. After all Cortana herself said Chief has a kind of nobility about him. And of course bring back the awesome one liners. Most of his better one liners where in Halo 2. Halo 3 let the ball down when it came to one liners.

Agree with everything that you’ve stated.

Halo 1-best shooter
Halo 2-best storyline
Halo 3-best forge
Halo wars-best music
Halo 3 O.D.S.T.-best firefights
Halo Reach-best new players
Halo 4- bringing it all back…into 1 game
tis should be E3 awards for halo of 2012.
MY OPINION!!

BEST FREAKIN THREAD I,VE EVER GONE THROUGH …BUDY IM JUST HOPING THAT IF SOMEBODY FROM THEM (343) WOULD GET A SHOT OF THIS THREAD

halo reach was standalone noble 6 died there is not going too be a halo reach 2 hopefully 343 realizes that and goes back and gives us a brand new trilogy of the halo we love so dearly  but just a quick side note i do not want a halo 3 copy but thats just me lol

When OP gets that feelin’, he wants… Halo 4 healin’…

LOL

That Halo 2 main menu music, oh my. So good, about a hundred times better than Reach. Gives that tingly feeling down your spine.

It encapsulates everything that is Halo, an epic sense of scale with mystery and wonder. Reach’s music didn’t strike any of these feelings.

I hope they give us that feeling that Halo 2 had;

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!?!

I really never felt like -Yoink- was about to hit the fan in H3 but I did in 2.

Oh and Reach’s campaign was shockingly terrible

i agree with you i loved halo 2s menu so much. I remember endless saturday mornings waking up with my buds who stayed the night the day before, and we would turn on the xbox and go get cereal, and go back in my room and just watch the menu till we finished our cereal. good times

YES!

I want a game that captures the heart of the community again.

A game that you talk about the next day with your friends.

A game that you get excited about playing 2 years after its release because you’ve just caught a YouTube clip of it online.

No I don’t want halo 3, but that essence would be great!

Hmmm? i never said anything about it being another halo 3?

Although the music in Halo: Reach was indeed beautiful, it didn’t add to the gameplay as much as the previous titles. It has been far too long since I’ve felt completely involved in the story.

Yes, still when I think of halo 3, see it or play it, I still get this feeling of vast epicness… I hope halo 4 feels like halo3, but with reach graphics/textures.
