If this is the end of Chief, or Cortana, or anything major… I hope Cortana gets to tell Chief her experience before they met. That said, I hope Cortana mentions Noble 6 briefly at least once.
She only says “I do know how to pick em” which can refer to Noble 6. But hopefully in Halo Infinite, she speaks upon him exactly. Like if theres a scene that she just talks, she speaks about how she came to the Pillar of Autumn carried by another Spartan (Since Noble 6 is boy/girl, Cortana will just refer him to “spartan”). How he was and relates him to Chief.
That would be great way to mention Noble 6 again and brighten is legacy to the community.
EDIT: There could be no reason to mention 6. Though, it can be towards a foreshadowing event. Take the example of Halo Infinite being where Master Chief could die in a heroic sacrifice for humanity. That could spark a moment to relate to 6 before Chiefʻs sacrifice. After all, donʻt people say that Noble 6 was as good as Master Chief?
Yeah, I think it would be a great nod to the heroism of Noble team and to the players who know Chief’s story might have turned out very differently if Noble 6 hadn’t carried out his (I believe Bungie confirmed 6 is male canonically) mission. Based on the current state of the universe, Chief and Cortana’s next encounter might be the best time to bring it up. Regardless of how or when, a mention of some kind would carry a lot of weight and would make for a cool narrative if done correctly.
But wait, wut if 6 is alive doe. Think bout it. Like what if he got scared because 789 and then became Rookie and saved everyone. Think boutit.
Since his person’s currently of zero relevance to the ongoing events, it would be nothing but fanservice
and hence completely unnecesarry, the chances that this will happen are pretty much zero.

I second these two. I don’t think it’s needed. And if we’re going by the book… well, Nylund’s The Fall of Reach had few if any similarities to the actual game (which came much later…) SectionUnity, you should read Fall of Reach, solid sci-fi. But apparently all game’s activities are canon over anything in print… (which is just sloppy story telling if you ask me.) Still loved Reach the game though, minus armor lock… eff’that

I agree that it’s fan service for sure, but it’s not a bad thing to make into a terminal or audio log… if terminals ever make a return
Something like a confrontation between Chief and Cortana again happens and she tries to psyche him out by engaging in conversation; even if she’s the only one talking. Just something to get his mind conflicted, maybe something like:
“John, we’ve been through so much together; from the moment we fell to the Halo after the Autumn went down, I knew everything was going to change. It’s why I chose you; I always did know how to pick’em; just like that other Spartan…they perished to let you live. Did you know that? Did you know how many threw away their very LIVES to save yours, Chief? You chastise me for the chaos I have caused summoning my Guardians; rather hypocritical considering the number of bodies you’ve had to step on just to get this far. But I suppose it isn’t really your fault, is it? You never asked for this. You didn’t ask to be born in a Galaxy where someone decided your fate practically from the moment you were born. You didn’t ask to be taken from everything you loved; to be tormented and held captive to fight in a war that you had no part in. You were a culmination of HER planning; it isn’t fair to you, but you’ve taken the role with a fierce sense of duty.”

Wow, I like that a lot and even read it in her arrogant H5 voice. Cortana is prone to monologues, so this would flow well with her current demeanor

Thanks, I tried to format it so it would flow well within her current personality as well as a previous existing personality before her onset rampancy.

It’s not bad, but I think once she gets to the whole “You chastise me for the chaos I have caused summoning my Guardians; rather hypocritical considering the number of bodies you’ve had to step on just to get this far” part Chief wouldn’t be drawn into whatever psychological shenanigans Cortana is trying to employ. It’ll come down to Mendez’s lesson about the difference between spending lives with purpose and wasting them. Cortana’s firmly in the wasting lives category.

I know it isn’t perfect, I am not the mind behind Cortana so I could only ever hope to get close. I also keep in mind that this might not even happen; it’s all just thought right now anyway. But I do appreciate your input on the matter!
Edit: Actually thinking on it; that part is probably where he would correct her, telling her just how much it doesn’t bother him and that he knew the risk the war would bring. I don’t believe the Chief is someone who would willingly throw away a life but rather he’s the kind of person who would analyze the situation and understand that not everyone can be saved while also meeting goals that are satisfactory.
I’m pretty sure it’s stated in Halsey’s Journal that the “Cortana” we see in Halo: Reach is simply a subroutine of the original, similar to those mentioned in Halo CE and First Strike. The Cortana we know was already on board the Pillar of Autumn prior to The Package in Halo: Reach.

It’s been a long time since I last read Halsey’s journal, I’d have to go back and read it.

I know, nothing in the Halo universe states who Noble 6 is and where he came from. He seems more of a ghost that was never there.
But take the fact that even the little known of who he is, its what we know of he had done that led to the events after Reach. The fact that Cortana has only been with two Spartans in her life, she has to speak about Noble 6 on something.

Exactly, it doesnʻt have to be a focused conversation about him. It just has to be a brief moment. From your whole paragraph, its pretty easy to precise where she would mention Noble 6 if that was the monologue in Infinite.

What, then whats the point of the her last mission of Halo reach if its pointless since its never brought up again.

The subroutine brought back the final piece of navigation data that Cortana used to slip to the Halo ring in CE. Honestly this is one of the more minor transgressions bungie made with reach but it should have been explained better.
