I hope Buck is somehow included in the story.

I’m just a huge fan of Nathan Fillion’s voice acting and the personality he brings to Buck’s character. In my opinion, Buck should remain as a regular character throughout the main line Halo games. I would also like to see more interaction between him and Master Chief. I think it’s a good contrast what with Chief’s straight to the point attitude and Buck’s more sarcastic, chatty nature. Any thoughts?

I’d love for him to come back on the same side as Chief, interacting with him instead of “hunting” him down. He brings a unique charm to the franchise that no one else does.

I personally want all of Osiris to be present in some way. They should be built up, and retroactively improved for Halo 5 by Halo 6, rather than chucked away. Of course, they shouldn’t be shoved in for the sake of it too. But I’ll be happy if they’re all included.

Definitely need Buck though. Nathan Fillion makes everything better.

I think that Buck may be the only Osiris holdout that isn’t deeply divisive as far as fan regard goes. He’s a great choice to keep around to some extent.

I’ve really enjoyed Matt Forbeck’s Buck novels and would love for Alpha Nine in the state they exist throughout Bad Blood to appear in Infinite. I feel like there’s more novelty in that than there is in bringing back Buck as part of Osiris, which is again a pretty polarizing group of characters overall.

Even then, I don’t think it’d be smart to overplay the Buck card. At the very most, he should probably be only as big a part of the story as Sgt. Johnson was in Halo 2-3 as not to draw too much attention away from Chief. With that being said, Buck may be the only established character in the Halo universe that I can think of who has enough goodwill with the majority of fans to fill in that support/friend niche in the narrative that Johnson used to occupy.

Some interesting things to think about, but however 343 chooses to implement Buck into the story, I’d be very surprised if they choose not to at all. He’s nearly as beloved as any character in the original Halo trilogy, which is remarkable considering he didn’t appear at all in CE, Halo 2, or Halo 3 Proper.

I absolutely loved buck. I hope he returns in Infinite and works with chief.

Yeh love to see more of ‘Buck’/Nathan Fillion since the actor is pretty good, interesting and hope they improve the animation rigs too since Halo 5’s animation with Buck just seemed a bit odd compared to Odst.

I would love to see Buck return. He could be the comic relief replacement for Johnson that the last few games have missed. That being said, in ODST Buck was serious at times and acted like a war vet, and I wouldn’t want him in Infinite JUST for comic relief.

Yeah I didn’t play Halo 5 but I did watch the cinematics on YouTube (because I wanted to see if the story really was that bad). Making Buck the weakest of Team Osirus always missing jumps and needing help didn’t seem like a good fit for his character. It is almost like 343i said we know you didn’t like ODST, neither did we over the backlash of making it a full priced $60 game.

I do too, he’s a good character, but I don’t know if that’s possible, Bucke

left Osiris and reformed Alpha Nine after his honeymoon, I suppose that could be changed.

I just enjoyed Halo 3 Odst so much and him as a character was awesome then Halo 5 came out and we got to see more of him which was really great! I completely agree would be nice to see them both fight along side each other!

Oh. I wasn’t aware of that being the case. I suppose

Spartan Gabriel Thorne could replace Buck on Fireteam Osiris, as he was originally intended to be the fourth member, but the voice actor was unavailable for Halo 5. If Osiris is disbanded, it probably means that 343 just want to move on from them, which is understandable, but a shame.

A shame indeed. I never say never though.

I believe majestic, Osiris, blue team, and the crew on infinity should all get representation. This 343is last chance to show me they can achieve some sense of cohesive overarching storytelling. If this is another case of here’s all the new guys you’ll barely connect with any exceptions being the ones you hate and don’t face any punishment for actions or Palmer. Adding new faces seems so unnecessary given the amount of characters we’ve met in game alone that get no real screen time.

I would love to see his old squad.

Same.

Well, given that Spartan DeMarco’s dead, there’s always a chance that a seasoned squad leader like Buck could be given command of Majestic. Osiris always struck me as the kind of team that’s formed for one specific mission and then disbanded anyway.

I would like Buck to be a funny character again like in ODST.
