Everybody is complaining about gameplay elements and how 343i should do this or not do that.
There is something that I personally don’t want 343i to do at all.
I don’t want them to have the Chief to wake up out of the Forward Unto Dawn’s cryo tube wearing his new armor. I know that they changed his armor for artistic reasons, but they just can’t do a huge jump in the canon like that. That would mean that you would have to have a Halo 2 Anniversary or so with the Chief wearing this new armor.
Now I addressed the whole issue on artistic license, nanites, etc in this thread but I still feel there is a possibility 343i is going to say “oh we just went with a new art direction.” To me that would be the biggest slap on the face 343i could do to the fans.
So far 343i has been very good with the canon. Any artistic changes that have occurred throughout the series are mostly minor and can be ignored (Arbiter’s mouth guards, Chief’s gauntlets.)
I still feel the Chief will wake up out of cryo with the Mark VI.
And before anybody else posts this up, I do know that 343i has already said there will be a canonical reason for the new armor.
> Halo 2 anniversary wouldn’t have to have chief with the new look. Quite the opposite.
I’m just saying that if 343i decided to just redesign the Mark VI like this, then they would have to give the chief the new look in a Halo 2 Anniversary.
Anyway I doubt they would heavily redesign the Mark VI.
I’m thinking that in the beginning of the game, maybe like a cutscene for a first level most Halos have, we will see Chief in the H2/H3 armor. Then I think he will escape the ship like in the trailer, and either 1. He will find new armor on board and be like “I need to put this on so I can -Yoink-” or 2. Get off the ship and rendezvous with some UNSC who have new armor for him. I don’t think that 343i will screw up that badly when the explanation is that easy.

They aren’t going to copy and paste the Mark VI from Halo 4 to Halo 2 Anniversary. Just like they didn’t take the Reach Mark V model and use it for CEA. I’m just saying you don’t have to worry that Halo 2 Anniversary’s Chief will look like Halo 4’s Chief. He will not.
I heard somewhere along the way that there was a logical reason why his armor had changed and that it would be explained in the game. But that may have been just a rumor.
