The issue with games nowadays is the the devs take too much feedback into consideration. Halo 4 is a great game. The last thing this game needs is the devs listening to a bunch of angry gamers who spend more time on the forums complaining about the game than actually playing it.
Getting spawn camped? Dont die in the first place.
Dont like getting your vehicle emped? Keep your distance.
“The game doesnt feel like halo” You shoot aliens and piss bullets into other players to kill them. Still. Feels. Like. Halo.
“AA’s are broken” No, you just suck. quit campin.
“Halo doesnt look like halo!” Yeah its a shame when graphics get better. THAT JUST RUINS EVERYTHING
“Cortanas butt is too big!” Said noone ever
343i, if you guys stumble across this thread, id like to say thank you and keep up the good work.
> The issue with games nowadays is the the devs take too much feedback into consideration.
Most Dev’s don’t.
> Getting spawn camped? Dont die in the first place.
Doesn’t excuse poorly designed spawns.
> Dont like getting your vehicle emped? Keep your distance.
Keep your distance on crowded maps versus a gun with significant range. The turret is also most effective at close range, forcing you to get close.
> “The game doesnt feel like halo” You shoot aliens and piss bullets into other players to kill them. Still. Feels. Like. Halo.
You shoot aliens in Alien: Colonial Marines. Doesn’t make it anything like Halo.
> “AA’s are broken” No, you just suck. quit campin.
I guess the countless professional players who agree that AA’s are broken just suck then.
> “Halo doesnt look like halo!” Yeah its a shame when graphics get better. THAT JUST RUINS EVERYTHING
I assume that’s directed at me. Halo 4 is only two years newer than Reach on the same console. The quality of the graphics is basically the same. The style of the game is different.
I don’t really care about how realistic or polished a game looks, I care about the style itself.
> id like to say thank you and keep up the good work.
How are they supposed to “keep up the good work” if people aren’t allowed to criticize? If people aren’t criticizing, there’s nothing to be improved on, thus nothing to work on.
Stuff that never would have been implemented without feedback:
-marines and Spartans doing damage with their melees
-marines and Spartans getting in vehicles faster and turning around for weapon swapping faster
-Jackals that don’t have haxed plasma pistols (a.k.a immediately firing after firing overcharged shot)
-Elites no longer having an easily exploitable turning melee (a revert to CE/H2 perhaps but it makes them more harder to assasinate and distinct from the plasma pistol/needler Elites, fuel rod gun Elites, and sword Elites)
-Hunters being faster (so it seems like they are intercepting incoming Hogs)
-delaying checkpoint by meleeing (absent in Halo 3)
-delaying checkpoint by shooting Ghost/ Banshee guns (absent in Halo 3)
-less severe collateral damage (in Reach, on Exodus, you can get punished for killing citizens when it’s their fault for running around in the open and not seeking cover like they do in Halo 4)
-enemies falling for the Hologram less often
-active camo that actually works against enemies
-less omniscient enemies
-more convincing enemy animations (compared to the speeded up/artificial feel of Halo 3 and Reach)
-an easter egg where your crosshair turns red on pissed off marines (like in the first two Halo games)
I’m not a big fan of 343i but I’m not going to deny that they were listening and Halo 4 feels distinct from Reach.
Just a few things Halo 4 could use:
-repeating checkpoints (missing in Halo 2 and Halo 4)
-marines/Spartans spending little to none time shooting at dead enemies
-marines/Spartans driving off with vehicles less often
-enemies have more capabilities (a la H4 Grunts with their new methane tank jump)
-better jump height and shielding for Chief

Tell me the downside to adding more gametypes like Assault and VIP, expanding custom options like dropping the flag and disabling sprint, allowing Theater to be used on Campaign and Spartan Ops films and adding a playlist with more classic settings aside from Team Throwback.

The game doesn’t feel like Halo because it is unbalanced beyond belief, movement still feels clunky, gameplay is horribly altered as compared to even Halo 3, and the entire way matches are played involve the smallest amount of skill(As this game does factually have the lowest skill gap of any of the games. Seriously, any Joe Schmoe can pick up a controller and get kills on someone who is mildly good. There is something wrong there.).
Armour Abilities have been broken since Halo: Reach. They were a neat idea, but absolutely never meant for a Halo styled game. They simply give others advantages they didn’t have to work to earn. The beautiful thing about Halo: CE, Halo 2, and Halo 3 were that if you wanted some sort of power up or ability you had to fight people on the map to get them, you didn’t spawn with them.

All in all you sound like an idiot.

You people like too much of kiss some -Yoink- don´t you? just ridiculous
If they don’t take our advice I won’t be buying Halo 5. Listening to their community should be the #1 things a dev should do. There were many mistakes they made with Halo 4, and the only way to fix those mistakes is to listen to us.
