I imagine the % drop to be similar on xbox. Console enjoys the same crashes, server malfunctions and ranked issues as PC.
These things are a bit apples and oranges, and both are probably true. TrueAchievements and Steam Charts are not measuring the same thing in the same way.
Iām a avid player who has dropped most of my gameplay time to online spades due to desync⦠donāt worry they spent a half billion creating the spades game tooo⦠lol
This guy blocked me because he couldnāt answer a simple question. He will blindly defend 343 no matter what.
They deserve it.
Hereās your 20 characters.
Saw this the other day (it was at #94, yikes!). If the other major FPS games hadnāt been dumpster fires, Infinite would already be dead.
It hovers between 5th and 10th place on Xboxās own chart so Iād be willing to bet the percentages are roughly the same. Xbox/MS positioning themselves as a publisher/service provider. They donāt care so long as its ācontentā supporting their service.
Bungie, we miss/need you. 343 aint cuttin it
3/4 steam users have stopped playing. It wouldnt be crazy to think that this trend is similar on other platforms. People in denial. This game is being handled horribly. Desync/Lack of content/ No Forge/ No co-op campaign/ridiculously over priced store items/game crashes/no anticheat. Why would you release a free to play crossplatform game without a anticheat? On top of that your forcing players to play with pc users so there is no escaping the cheaters. Is it really surprising that people are not sticking around? id be happier if they just spit in my face
I can still find a match in a matter of seconds. Thatās all the players I need.
And to think player base will keep going down too, season 2 isnāt for another 90 DAYS!
TIL Infinite has 50k people on steamā¦
Infinite is easily the most popular Halo since Halo 3, it is insane to think that 50k people on a platform that Halo didnāt even used to be on is a sign of it being dead.
Defend the game as you will, but Halo Infinite Console reviews are badā¦
Like : 3.3 bad⦠( Halo Infinite )
-
Halo MCC : 4.3
-
HALO 5 : 4.1 <<<< I thought this Halo game was bad, if not the worst??? lol OKAY some of yaāll are lying or in denial, I see your rank and how much youāve logged into the game
.
Cold War : 2.1
BF 2042 : 1.7
BattleFront 2 : 3.3
Rainbow 6 Extraction : 2.9
COD Warzone 2.2
COD Vanguard : 2.2
Destiny 2 : 3.0
DC Universe Online : 3.4 ( 10+ Year old game and has outlasted both COD and Halo titles )
Fortnite : 2.8 ( Most of these reviews are review bombs / Haters canāt accepting it actually stands as competition from what Iāve seen )
Apex Legends : 3.7
Splitgate : 3.8 ( If you havenāt played this game yet, give it a try, Itās Halo with Portal guns basically )
Warface : 4.4
Warframe : 4.2
Paladins : 3.5 ( Original Overwatch )
Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel : 3.2 ( I list this game cause it have been brought up a few times on Waypoint to compare how Micro-Transactions are handled better. )
PUBG Battlegrounds : 3.1
ROBLOX : 3.9
Rocket League : 4.4
I can go on, trust me, but I donāt feel like roasting Halo Infinite more than it needs to be, you guys on waypoint are already seeing to that.
*Let this sink in⦠Halo MCC and Halo 5 the game people claim is bad, Have the highest reviews when compared to Halo Infinite⦠Factor in the other games and you start to see that Infinite is pretty much a failed game with a community REALLY divided but want it to succeed, the hard to swallow pill is ; That game wonāt be a ā Success ā Until 343 Industries steps up there game, right now 1 can make an argument that 343 Is short of staff, ( Not really true ) All gaming studioās are always hiring talent. MANY can make multiple arguments that the game is new and oF cOuRsE it will have flaws at launch⦠But then again, 343 Industries has had the time since Halo 5ās launch and SUCCESS and the templates of Halo MCC and Halo 5 too see to it that Halo Infinite would be ā Near ā Perfect upon its launch⦠So defend the game as you will or donāt ; Regardless the reviews speak volumes, the community speaks louder and the numbers from steam show that Infinite is not INFINITE.
The argument of Halo MCC and Halo 5 have been out longer doesnt stand due to at any point the games can be reviewed at any point, as now that review number as dropped just like the population for the game on Steam / PC and Consoleā¦
Tons of Halo Content creators and streamers are stating over on Twitter and Halo discord that theyāre already burnt out or just done with Infinite until the game is ā Fixed ā
ā But, But these are steam chart numbers that OP @VicVinegar8835 is using donāt count⦠LOL Yeah they do, thats a vast number of players who have bought and logged hrs into the game just to leave the game⦠ā
Stop and think about what I just listed, If those are steam chart numbers and listed reviews for Infinite compared to other games including Halo MCC and Halo 5 are that low, what do you think the population numbers are for console???
( LOW )
Sure you can argue high cause its console, Where Halo belongs, but these reviews give you an idea on why the Halo Waypoint forums are ripping Infinite apart on a DAILY Basis.
- If the numbers for Console havenāt been released for Infinite yet, Then you know 343 Industries is afraid to show the Halo community how bad they messed up with the game.
I have hope for Infinite, but honestly I am spending my game time on Halo MCC, Halo 5 and other games non shooter.
Long post, Here is a potato
Off topic but I like how you format your posts. Especially when itās huge font in bold. I always read it as if an old man is yelling in the forums (but in a good way).
lol I dig that, but it grabs the attention of readers
Where did you even get those review numbers? Why should we value those over others? Interesting cherry picking there
Game reviewers (a lot of them) are extremely biased and/or casual in nature, so things like SP is massively overrated and they typically just gloss over MP entirely, or if its a game with a huge skill curve they are likely to say bad things about it (the preview of Streets before launch by IGN is one example of this) so overall it is very difficult to really care what any of them think because they are not the most avid of fans.
Metacritic is typically seen as the most valid because they do an aggregate of a lot of them together, and also have a user score available, but if you just have a certain reviewer you trust that is probably going to be more useful.
I find the whole ā343i had experienceā argument to be ridiculously stupid when you really put thought into it. That would be like saying that the Patriots have āexperienceā winning SuperBowls so 5 years from now they should have no problem winning one, like it ignores the constant revolving door and the competition within the gaming industry. By that logic basically no CoD, no Battlefield, no game from any big developer should ever be bad, but unfortunately that doesnāt mean squat when it comes to game design. Its also just a lame excuse for developers being lazy and just doing more of the same (following that line of thinking) so maybe the solution isnāt to always just stay within your comfort zone and do the same thing, maybe you should try something new for a change.
- Go to Xbox, games and look at the reviews.
And as for players, consumers and investors being ā Bias ā with there reviews ; Then take the time and look at the reviews for Halo Infinite, Halo MCC, Halo 5 and every other gameā¦
Well I am not cherry picking, I picked a few games at random, games I personally play and games that are ā Competitors " to the Halo titlesā¦
That and I am not going to list every game ā Review ā, Anyone, including you can take the time and view them yourself.
343 Industries has had Halo 4, Halo 5 and the MCC to utilize as templates for creating / improving Halo Infinite before releasing it, that and listening to the Halo Community / there main audience.
( Your response is my answer )
VVVVVVVV
^^^^^^^^^
Each game is different, OBVIOUSLY, But Halo has always remained the same when it came to UI / Gameplay / Sandbox⦠Even with Halo 5 and its Micro-Transaction ā REQ ā System ; Halo 5 still maintained Everything Haloā¦
Halo Infinite did a FULL 180, 117 steps backwards and changed things drastically compared to Halo 4, Halo 5, The Bungie Era Halo titles Halo CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3⦠Halo Reach, was created by Bungie with the help of 343 Industries, so Reach is very much a 343 Industries game as it is a Bungie gameā¦
Halo Infinite is being demolished by reviews on Xbox, Steam / PC and on the forums.
Rightfully So.
OP @VicVinegar8835 and many others on the forums have brought up the steam numbers to really show the community how bad the game is doing and how Infinites population is dropping.
I am merely showing the ( Review number 3.3 ) that is listed on Xbox, Originally when Infinite launched, that number was in the 4.0ās ; It has dropped since then.
Again, I am comparing Halo Infinite to Halo MCC, Halo 5 and other games, Shooters and non shooters to show that the review number gives an idea on
-
How the game is ( Good or Bad )
-
If it is worth playing, cause believe it or not, people actually determine if they want to play a game based on the reviews of the game.
I am not comparing Halo or how games are made to Football or how Football teams are managed or well they do each season ; If you want to go by that LOGIC, then reviewing each Team in football like a new game - to old game with same teams, then you will see each team / game they play is different, from winning, losing and how the players are interchangeable.
Compare that to Games and sequels to games, ( Halo Titles ) then you will see why ā Reviews ā are important.
I like Halo as much as the next guy Imma invest my time into it as I would with Football or any entertainment, but Imma be real a compare that investment to past investments and question ā WHY DID ( BLANK ) do a full 180 and completely fail this season / year / title? ā
Stop and think about that ; The Player base, ( NOT Population ) - but the community is divided ; If were being real, its not even divided, its just heated that 343 Industries is slacking with Halo, which brings people back to ā Microsoft needs to replace 343 Industries ā - That wonāt do anything, literally, It wonāt change anything, new management could mean worse for Halo or any other Game title.
ā By that Logic ā - That Logic is 117% accurate and valid when discussing Halo Infinite and itās state. ( Population - Reviews )
Skill has nothing to do with a review nor does it have anything to do with the player count dropping, NOT IN THE CONTEXT of a ā Broken ā / Unfinished game.
ā Avid Fans ā - Im literally talking about the Halo Community and those who have dropped hours into the game and reviewed Infinite, NOT IGN.
IGN will release a review that flyās over most gamers heads cause they would rather play and experience the game themselves, then critique and review it themselves.
I get it, defend Halo as you will, but again, The population numbers from Steam and the reviews on Steam / PC and on Xbox speak volumes on the state of Halo Infinite.
The number of Viewers for Halo Infinite on Twitch RN is at 8,874⦠HCS isnāt happening, The game is in a pretty bad state, so yeah, that number is low, keep in mind 2 or so weeks ago, people were using that Twitch number as a defense of ā Halo Is back ā⦠LOL Halo Never left, the players did, you know cause there entitled too, cause there burnt out or maybe donāt want to play or view a game in a bad state or mixed reviewsā¦
I rarely bother watching or reading main game media reviews anymore, for the reasons I went on about, the two best ones Iāve seen so far were Favynās and AngryJoeās review, but obviously I didnāt spend days/weeks looking through every review. I think reviews back in the day mattered more than what they do now, internet wasnāt as common so you couldnāt do as much research about a game you were interested in before you bought it, nor could you just get it via Gamepass or something, so reviews are almost worthless I would argue. Even user reviews are questionable because if you look through them its pretty apparent a lot of them are just flat out stupid (Why this game have shields? blah blah blah) or made by bots so they are also not as meaningful as they once were.
You use them here like theyāre some sort of monoculture, as I alluded to they are not the same company (in practice) as they were in 2012 or 2015⦠People been using this argument for decades with Halo.
Ok so you believe that 50k extra people hurts a game popularity wise? So using this same logic if Halo 3 or Halo Reach (for the sake of argument) had 50k extra people on steam youād argue that theyāre dead games? Do you see why this is horrible logic? Hell, Iām surprised it gets 50k considering that it plays horribly on PC/Steam.
I seriously wonder if you know sports man, because this just confused me more than anything.
How many viewers did Halo 2 or Halo 3 get? How about Halo 4, Halo 5, Halo MCC? At what point has Halo ever had amazing viewership numbers? Twitch numbers for Halo are almost worthless. Now for HCS events they do definitely uptick a good deal (which you mentioned, to your credit) but overall it has absymal viewership compared to some games but you could easily argue that no Halo game would ever get good viewership so that argument is a wash.
I mean if you were arguing that Halo needs a BR mode for twitch viewership, then it would be more consistent/make more sense, but as it stands now Twitch is not meaningful.
As long as I can get on my Xbox and play Fiesta all the llive long day, Iām good.
Out of interest, how long does it take to go from the end of one game to the start of another for you? For me thereās an endless amount of time between a game ending and the stats coming up, then thereās a pretty long wait for a match, then another endless wait while the match is actually set up. Sometimes I get the ātourā of the map before the game three times - power weapons, bases etc etc. It takes ages
I rate H5 the best in the series. Just slightly better than H3.
You mean the halo that had more people competing in their last national championship than actually watching?
