I dont ever come on these forums but reading about the “ranking system” just got me so mad that i felt i needed to post.
What happened to Halo ? What happened to it being unique and super fun?
I played every Halo, and they were all extremely fun, as many of you did, I got Reach at midnight, haven’t been more disappointed in a game in my life. Played it for about 2 weeks then returned it. I dont get where Bungie got the idea that they should make the game more like CoD than Halo, and just when i thought it couldn’t get any worse, I see this ranking system on Halo 4. God it just makes me want to go to 343 studios and yell “wtf are you guys thinking ?!?!?”
I got over sprint, i got over the DMR since now there will be a BR, but now they add Tactical package…support upgrade…as if Armor Abilities didn’t ruin Halo enough. And where did they get these ideas from ? CoD…they even copied the doritos/mountain dew double exp thing. really ?
At the end of the day, i will still buy Halo 4, simply because i want to give it a chance, but if its anywhere near as bad as Reach, I will be moving on to Black Ops 2, and i guarantee that so will many others. This game will die just like Reach if not sooner. The only thing they needed to do is add a 1-50 skill system like Halo 3 or Halo 2s with a very good banhammer, but no, they decide to follow in a failed games footsteps and go with another progression ranking system.
Strawman argument. Really. Saying halo 4 is bad because its like call of duty is the lowest and worst complaint ever. You might as well be admiting you have no idea what your talking about.
It’s funny, you’re saying you don’t want it to look like CoD. Yet, if you don’t like Halo 4, you’re going to play CoD? Logic! We’ve seen enough of these threads already…
Reach wasn’t anything like CoD, don’t know what you’re saying.
and really? Saying Reach died quickly? It’s still one of the most popular videogames played on any console. Just because it’s not number one 100% of the time doesn’t mean it’s “dead”.
You say Halo 4 is turning into CoD and hate it… then you say you’ll just go to Blops 2 which last time I checked is CoD. Surely if you hate CoD mechanics you’d go to BF3 or some other shooter?

Frank O’ Connor confirmed at Eurogamer we would here about a ranked ranking system soon.
