What is the point in wasting time making a new xbox live account just so you can try to get a better rank in arena? almost every match i go into now for team slayer or team arena is nothing but people’s new accounts for ranking. The whole thing just seems like a pointless waste of time. Someone please enlighten me as to why this is worth it.

On a more serious note, you are making an odd assumption. Namely you are assuming that Unranked = New account. There is no reason to make this assumption, it could just as likely be that they haven’t had time to play in the last couple of months, had no interest in getting a rank, just got the game, or a hundred other reasons they may not have ranked yet.

2 things man, 1 don’t assume that i assumed anything, i never said these guys were unranked. the ones i have seen literally only play that specific mode. and 2 i based this not only on looking at not only their service record but their xbox live profile and acheivements as well, normally if they are just new to halo they have them for other games, but here that is not at all the case. they are profiles that have acheivements in ONLY halo 5 and have no friends what so ever nor any captures, im just asking a question based on what i have seen, no assumptions have been made here.

again you have. There are a lot of July birthdays. They could easily be actual new players. Or older players who only play one game. If you think you are correct and you have identified a few of them, you could just message them, “Hey mate? Did you set up a second account? If so Why?” You may get your answers.
There is also the idea that if they have set up a second account you assume they want to do better. A lot of second accounts have people intentionally playing worse. It is the new equivalent of Deranking if you’ve been around long enough to remember what that is.

Maybe their other account is at max rank and they want to start over to continue having fun on the game like a new person would.

now there is a good reply, but my point is i don’t see why you would do that and not only reset your rank, but reset all the hard work you put into your kd stats, and reqs.
I haven’t played arena for ages, mostly due to trouble finding match’s in Aus, but when I do, I am unranked… I figure lots of people have this issue. Does it matter?

Mostly for bragging rights. Like most people with my K/D would just start a new account because they are afraid people are gonna give them hate for being bad. But that’s a good question I don’t really see the point on making a new account. It’s just a game.

maybe it does, maybe it doesn’t. I was just curious as to why people would do it. Just seemed a tad pointless to me.
