I have questions about the Campaign.

Just 3 actually:

1): Why are the Elites fighting us again? Is it really just rebels who couldn’t accept the treaty between the humans, like Cortana suggested?

2): What were the Didact’s motives? Why is he playing the antagonist? Does he really
just want to destroy the humans because he believes they are not capable of upholding the mantle?

3): How did the chief and Cortana suddenly know who the Didact was? I don’t remember him introducing himself.

These are what really threw me off in the campaign, any explanations are helpful.

1 its a rogue faction that still believe in the great journey
2. I think it was something to do with the humans bringing the flood (i dont know how since they didnt create the flood) and the whole human forerunner war thing.
3. I dont know I have been wondering about that myself.

Halo 4’s story is the worst story in the entire franchise imo.

I diasagree. I firmly believe it is one of the best story so far…

I disagree as well. Halo 4 was an excellent bridge of fiction between the novels and the games. You give him answers to his questions that you don’t entirely understand yourself then say it’s the worst game…ya

Tho you are entitled to your opinion

This. I absolutely loved the campaign. There were so many moments where I freaked out and fangasmed at what I was seeing, and we got to meet two of the most important characters in the Halo Universe lore wise.

I can see that it would be confusing especially to those that haven’t read a single Halo book. But lore wise, compared to the other Halos, I firmly believe Halo 4 had the most interesting campaign in the Halo’s so far.

Terrible character development, everything seems rushed, we have two major issues going on at the same time (cortana and didact) and its juts crammed together, the prometheans were humans that were converted into AI’s/robot bodies, the ending was terrible.

Those whole things was not written or fleshed out well, things seemed to jump from one thing to another with out any interesting explanations. And the one thing I have always loved about halo4 was the mysterious vibes it constantly provided, halo 4 did not do that. The whole thing was just boring.

Of course these are just my opinions and to me it was blatantly obvious 343 dedicated most of their time making a shiny and glamorous game with no replay value rather than a unique and memorable campaign/story.

  1. The Elites are the Storm Covenant, a splinter faction that still believes that the Prophets were right (though Jul 'Mdama, the leader, doesn’t; he just wants Forerunner tech to destroy humanity in revenge for killing his wife)

  2. The Didact views Humanity as a threat to the Forerunners, in that he believes that Forerunners alone are worthy of the Mantle.

  3. I wasn’t entirely sure, but I just assumed that Cortana hacked into some files or something. It wasn’t well explained, but it was a small price to pay for an awesome Campaign.

But why? Forerunners left us to take control of the mantle, why are we no longer worthy?
