Some older Halo games had the Chief model (which was the same model for the personalized Spartans for MM) with rather strange physical movements in the arms and often they would hang making him look like he had ape arms (if that’s what OP is referring to, if not, ignore me lol).
As for the Space Diaper…look at Master Chief’s armor from Combat Evolved, specifically the waist area (Halo 1 had it worse because when they upgraded Chief to the Mark VI it swapped out most of the looping metal in between his thighs for a simple cod piece and preferred to only cover from his lower mid back to his tail bone on the back plating). It looks like he’s wearing a giant, metal diaper. Earlier designs had this as a means of protecting his groin (which I mean, on most men is a temporary KO spot to hit) but it ended up looking kinda goofy which is likely why Bungie tossed out the design for the Mark V to upgrade to the Mark VI in Halo 2.
Not sure what ape arms are but I like the diapers. They add a hint of uniqueness whereas H5’s versions look more aligned with generic sci-fi.
