I have never been this bad at Halo.

It seriously just makes me not want to play, because I’m more of an asset for the other team. I don’t understand why I’m so awful at it now… I’ve always been at least decent at any Halo game, and at least my K/D was enough above 1. Now I’m dropping into the negatives consistently in every game.

It has to be lag, at least partly. On multiple occasions I’ll get a 2 shot lead on someone with the DMR, and they’ll kill me from full shields before the next 2 land, even when I don’t miss. That’s just a mathematical impossibility… but no one else in my house is lagging. Just now in fact, I got a 3 shot lead on someone with a sword across the room – at this point, their shield should pop… right? No, he whips out his BR and kills me as I’m consistently landing shots. The shield never came off. There’s no rubberbanding, or any other kind of delay… but it feels like I’m firing a nerf gun and it’s incredibly frustrating. Is there anything I can do?

Hmm that’s odd. Sounds like lag if your shots aren’t connecting. Do the hit markers around the reticule show up?

You’re doing it wrong then… the competition out there right now is weak at best. I got a perfection in my first game. Not even guests on the other team.

Learn the maps, weapons, and what customizations work for you…

I dunno man, I am actually better at Halo 4 than I was in 3 or Reach. My K/D is 1.35 in Slayer at the moment.

Hard to tell, not always paying attention to it. I’ve definitely seen them, though. Also, when I die my respawn menu pops up a second later than it should. So, I guess it has to be lag… but once again, no one else in my house is lagging.

I can understand where you’re coming from bro, theres times when I swear I’d win a firefight and it seems like the other person’s BR is doing more damage than mine =/ (even without Damage Boost) but I’m sure its only a few games.

Other than that the hit detection seems on point. It feels good to actually hit people now when I aim at them; unlike Reach where the bloom would make it damn near impossible to finish someone even halfway across the map.

I haven’t had any problems like that BUT i have been matched up with people outside of the states and there was some delay/eating shots (but i still get kills more times than i die). It could also be that there are server issues waiting to be fixed. It could be a number things affecting you ;/

If you were decent at Halo (i am decent as well) it should translate into halo 4 since basic skill is universal. Of course, learning the maps, weapons, strafing (this is back, something Reach lacked), finding the right sens and control scheme. This will also help you win more of your encounters (though if you want to win games, play with friends).

Well, I’m new to Halo 4 and was really good at COD. So learning the mechanics of the game and figuring out my nitche has been a bit of a chore. Meaning that right now… I’m TERRIBLE.

However, I really love the game and will be really good at it in time.

I was really accurate at long ranges with the DMR in Reach, oddly enough… haha. This is pretty consistent, because there’s no excuse that I can think of that I’d be going negative in games otherwise. Maybe horrible luck, but the game just FEELS bad and floaty. When I watch my roommates play on theirs, it feels different. Also, campaign felt pretty good too in terms of hit detection.

The only thing I can think of is that I’m connected through a router, and they’re on WiFi. The router has been kind of -Yoink- in the past, so I’m thinking of just circumventing it all together and see what happens. Guess I’ll see what happens, or maybe I’ll just continue being bad until I learn what I thought I already knew, lol.

it might be the people you are fighting have the ability which makes the shield stronger then normal. which i just unlocked and it makes a noticeable difference

Strafing doesn’t seem too effective to me, it just seems like I’m being hit like I’m standing still regardless… which even further supports my, “I think I have a -Yoink- connection” theory. I had no problem destroying people with the BR in Halo 3, but now I feel like I’m lucky to get a kill. I’ll update after I’ve gotten rid of the router.

Dude, don’t doubt yourself just relax go out there and tear, this is the easiest competition i have seen on a halo game, just believe in yourself a lot of new players are from cod or at least they play like they are. even at the higher SR 28+ like me. If you aren’t getting like perfections first time or killing frenzies don’t be discouraged, change your sensitivity or whatever you think might be limiting you. Its all in your mind bro.

I feel ya bud, my shots are registering, but not doing damage haha.

I’m with you man. I was really good at Halo 3, but in Halo 4 I’m doing terrible. Maybe it’s because some of the guns are so overpowered? (Example: Saw).

I’m terrible too lol. I came over from BF3 and I’m dying that can’t ADS.

I think of it as a challenge.OP you’ll be owning in due time.Try smaller servers

Edit; I know you can ADS with weapons, just doesn’t feel the same

I was a 2.0 in reach and now I’m a 3.00 in Halo 4
