I have issue with Survivor

I don’t always play Halo 4, but when I do, I prefer Heavies. Even in their watered down H4 versions, Vehicles are an overshield, power weapon, and speed boost combined. If you destroy one you deserve the kill. That isn’t even considering the fact that it robs players of vehicle commendations, unless I’m wrong and you still get the commendation if the occupant lives, I’ve never really tracked it.

I acknowledge the reality that putting a kill on the board is less important than removing the enemy’s advantage of having an active vehicle on the field, but that is no reason to give the player with all of the advantages a get out of death free. I also recognize that it isn’t unbalanced per say, all players have access to this perk, on both sides, just that it is excessive.

I’m not one to throw out complaint without suggestion for improvement. I would suggest applying survivor only to gunners, who have no real control of their position. In exchange remove the full speed modifier with detached turrets and give it to the perk that allows full speed movement while taking fire, and sprinting while carrying one.

This is just my thoughts on the subject, I would love to read your’s.

As long as you get the Vehicle Destroyed medal, it counts towards your commendation, regardless of if they driver survives or not (for reference though, destroying a Scorpion by hijacking and punching doesn’t count towards the commendation, only using grenades or destroying with weapons does)…

If you destroy a vehicle but the driver ejects with Survivor, you will still get the Vehicle Destroy medal towards your vehicle commendations, but you won’t get the Weapon Kill medal towards your weapon commendations. For example, if you destroy a Warthog with a Spartan Laser, your Warthog Destroyer commendation will increase, but your Spartan Laser commendation won’t because you didn’t kill anyone.

Unfortunately, this means that the only way to get consistent kills with anti-vehicle weapons is to waste them on infantry. The whole scheme is very imbalanced.

Survivor is just another ingredient that 343 chucked into the pot of stew that h4 has become. I use it due to that fact that I use vehicles a lot, but if it was removed I would not miss it. I use to help counter the plasma brigade, plus all the power weapons that fall out of the sky as reward for someone shooting towards the enemy and getting assists.
Vehicles in h4 are fragile, and overly easy to hijack, so I take all the help I can get.
Wrong you say? I agree, but it is just one of the many wrong things that have been inflicted on this game.

For the most part you’re looking at it’s advantages. There are quite a few drawbacks to having it:

1: Sure, you survive, but your shields are either gone or next to nothing. Easy kill for anyone trying to take you out with a precision weapon - which, since vehicles are usually a massive threat, will most likely be quite a few.

2: When you are ejected, your movement is briefly slowed unless you have a jetpack or thruster pack. Again, an easy kill, especially coupled with the first reason.

3: You have to sacrifice a support upgrade perk that is always passive (such as Ammo and Stability) in favor for a perk that only applies to vehicles. Considering heavies, or any playlist with good vehicles for that matter, there will most likely be times team mates will beat you, and you’re stuck with a useless addition.
