I suggest you open a support ticket. If you are having this issue, there are surely others. Something like this is inexcusable and will cause people to quit playing.

As others have recommended open a support ticket. I’d probably also tweet out your issue to larger Halo personalities and the support handle. Someone was banned for a month for exclusively playing bot slayer, and they shared their issue pretty publicly on twitter. I think within a couple of days the ban was reversed.

I was banned on Halo Infinite for playing a custom game by myself and then ending the game after about 8 minutes. The same thing happened to my friend a few hours ago. This seems to be an ongoing problem.

I just got banned for “unsportsmanlike behavior” when i was helping fix someones setting in a custom game and ended it. This is ridiculous. It makes me not wanna play this game

I’m tempted to idle in a private custom game tonight a few times to see if I can replicate this. I would not be surprised in the slightest if you can get quit bans for private custom games.
Sounds exactly like something 343 would do considering they can barely do anything right.

I got banned too. 
I opened custom match of Arena: Attrition on Breaker, on Azure server. Idle for 5 mins, end match, get notification I’m banned for 10 minutes.

I opened a support ticket. It is only on Azure server, since you are technically connecting to their game servers.
Second match test I idled for 4 mins, this time banned for 40 mins.
Lastly, I tested custom on offline and didn’t get banned, so it must be their server.

So i got banned for helping others with their settings by starting a custom game then ending it (see my above comment)
I opened a support ticket and got a reply, this is what was said
Hi Starz PLURR,
After reviewing all available information, we have identified enough evidence to reduce/remove your current Halo Infinite enforcement action. As a result, we have removed/reduced your suspension to 0 days.
Thank you for following-up with us and we appreciate the chance to further investigate this.

I’m seeing lots of reports of this.
It’s clearly a new bug that somehow popped up.
Please submit a ticket so they have more info.
Now someone needs to test if custom games affects sbmm like bot bootcamp

At this point it honestly feels like 343 are deliberately trolling their customers. It just feels like there is something wrong with near enough anything they do at the moment.

I received a message from support saying they updated the services and bans from custom games should no longer occur. No download will be needed for this to take effect.

What the hell is this crap???
My friend and I were playing Stockpile. I would get the seed and my friend was doing the driving in the hog. The he would take take me to our base so I can cap the seed.
We did it 5 time and we won the game. After the game was over my friend got this D. A. stupid message You were banned for 10 mins for “UNSPORTING PLAY!!!” what the hell is that all about???
Man this why I don’t play in the Social Games Area!! ( I play Custom Games Only!! ) unless a friend calls me to play!! What a load of crap!!!

A bunch of pros have been getting this too. Apparently if you don’t do any damage to an enemy player during a game, 343 thinks you’re unsporting.

With all seriousness: you even get banned for leaving a 4v1. Instead of wasting EVERYBODYs time you decide to leave and hop in another game… but get banend for unsporting behaviour. xD
