Instead of crying about how much the game sucks, play something else. Problem=solved?
No not problem solved, like it or not we are part of this community and i have as much of a right to speak my mind as anyone. I did after all buy this game.
OP - I agree… I find it funny that some people make these grand “I’m Done” threads. Nobody cares…
> Instead of crying about how much the game sucks, play something else. Problem=solved?
We’re it so easy.
I did, I went back to Halo 3 and it was amazing. I thought Halo 4 wasn’t that bad of a game but once I went back to Halo 3, Halo 4 didn’t seem very fun. I’ll wait for the next TU then I’ll go back to Halo 4, I’m not giving up on it yet.
> Instead of crying about how much the game sucks, play something else. Problem=solved?
No. The people that criticize this game are the ones who love Halo. We complain because we don’t want to play something else. We complain because we like this series and want to see it up to the standards we expect. We complain because this game could be amazing, and instead it’s shit.
> No. The people that criticize this game are the ones who love Halo. We complain because we don’t want to play something else. We complain because we like this series and want to see it up to the standards we expect. We complain because this game could be amazing, and instead it’s shit.
It’s just odd because at the same time, most people want time to stand still. The franchise has to adapt or die, but most seem to want things “as they used to be” so they can feel more comfortable playing the game. Nobody is going to invest as much as Microsoft has with 343i and only expect minimal return on investment. Not gonna happen. This game is moving in a different direction whether some folks like it or not. Like my friend always says, “Ride or Collide!” However, the perpetual complaining is boring and immature.
Oppsss… we’re talking about a video game and therefore, I can’t expect too much more than the later. :=/
How is the OP any better than registering a complaint about the game? To my shame, I opened this thread expecting something constructive but alas, no. Just another kid complaining that people are complaining…
I’ve paid a lot of money for the limited edition of a HALO game, to find that Halo 4 ruined the Bungie’s Halo gameplay. I have a right to complain and tell 343: this is not Halo, fix the game!!
And I’ve gone to Reach, in that game I could use the Warthog in Hemorrhage dodging snipers and Revenants. That is Halo. Halo 4 is not Halo, is a DMR festival.

Being constructive and complaining are two different things.
Not saying that is what you are doing because I frankly have not seen your posts prior to this one. Most so called “true fans” think that 343i is Burger King and they get to have everything their way. This franchise is going to move in a new direction with an original flavor whether people like it or not. Microsoft is NOT going to essentially re-invest in the franchise by standing up 343i to only receive minimal returns on their investment. The plan is to grow the brand and if that means that they loose some dead weight, then so be it. I would love to see some of these so called “true fans” move on because they are ruining the forum with their negativity!
Most of the discussions/demands are about how to make Halo better for them to adapt to the game versus about changes that actually help the entire community.

Lots of players are not satisfied with this game. Lots. What are 343 gonna do? Forget about them? If this franchise wants to follow a new direction, that direction should be approved by the vast majority of players. And this is not the case.
I think 343 have tried to bring fresh air to Halo, including loadouts, ordinances and all that stuff, but for those we don’t like those changes, there should be an alternative:classic playlists, with the traditional Halo gameplay. Do we have them? No. Will we have them? We don’t know. Have 343 said that we will have them? They haven’t. If they had, I would stop complaining and say: OK, they are working on it, I’ll give them some credit. But if we don’t get any responses, I have to assume Halo 4 is going to be left as it is, and for someone who loves this franchise, that is unacceptable.

and what is the different to this thread???!!! o.O

You want to know why all this is happening. Why has Halo started shifting in a new direction. The “traditional” Halo gameplay has not increased sales or garnished a wider fan base support from consumers. In fact, prior to Halo 4, there seemed to be more discontent. As I previously stated, Microsoft has re-invested in the franchise by standing up 343i. They are expecting a greater return on investment and the “classic” Halo is not going to get them there. You have to ask yourself why didn’t Microsoft simply extent or create another contract with Bungie. Halo under 343i is now geared to take a bite into the marketplace by brining in new players.

It’s not emotionally filled with negativity overtly complaining about the game and/or the developer.

No, problem solved. No more crying. Play Halo 4 or play something else. Simple.

Halo 3 truly was the last traditional halo game, mixing aspects of halo ce and halo 2 with a few of its own new mechanics that were for the most part, 100% optional. I remember over 300,000 people used to play that game all at once every day for the first two years it was out. Even after odst people still played it because odst had the dlc for more halo 3 maps.
Reach was what caused that discontent. It strayed way too far from the traditional halo games which is why it gets so much hate on the forums. The reason halo 4 is getting so much hate now is because people thought reach was done with, and they were going to get an improved halo 3, since logically, halo 4 comes after halo 3. They didnt, they got an improved version of reach mechanics with halo 3’s story continued. Did I mention that most of these new mechanics are not optional?
People can say what they want about other’s complaints, but a lot of them are 100% valid.
To OP: Some people are upset that 343i RUINED Halo.

So do you feel that 343i should have simply re-branded Halo 3 with a continued story, spartan ops, and new maps? How would 343i have improved on Halo 3?

The worst excuse I always hear when people try to defend 343s dumb decisions.“Oh Halo is just evolving so you just have to adapt”. They might as well have named this game something else because it does not play like the original Halos AT ALL.
I don’t really understand how anyone who loved the first three halo games could even support all of the changes 343 has made to Halo. I wonder if those people even liked playing the original Halos or have they always just been waiting for the game to change into this non original class based shooter.
Halo is devolving not evolving.

I’m not defending 343i.
I’m just trying to make sense / understand what would motivate the decisions they have made. If you believe that 343i just changed or added elements to Halo just because they could, well, that does not make sense. Maybe people should take a step back and evaluate why 343i made the decisions to incorporate the new elements to Halo 4. From all the interviews that I have seen, 343i plans on carrying out their vision for Halo 4 and are willing to except some of the backlash that comes with the changes they have implemented.
I have only seen one other post besides yours that indicated that Halo 4 does not inherently play like Halo. ((((Shrugs))))
NOTE: You would not invest money in a product if you did not expect to turn a profit. So why should Microsoft. I just don’t see how repacking the past builds the brand when the last installment flopped. Go figure…
