How many do you have to buy till your done I do know I’ll know when I’m done I also want to know how many REQ points that is
I know it is a lot, but once you start getting REQ points, then it’s time to go on to the gold. It’s also is a long grind!

I know I’ve been buying holds and just last week I started buying silver’s because I realised I was wasting my REQ points

I started this way as well. After learning the errors of my ways, I went back to bronze, then silver, and now I’m on golds. But when the new drop comes, I go back to bronze, then silvers, then back to my gold grind.
You have to buy them until you get back two 1500 req point cards… then you can move on to the longer grind of gold packs.
You buy until all silver tier reqs are unlocked, same with bronze and gold.
side note: not everything will be unlocked by req packs, some are clan rewards, waypoint rewards, beta rewards, achievement/Spartan rank rewards, and comenadation rewards.
At one point I remember if your SR was in the upper 70’s you were pretty close to being done with silvers. Now I would guess it’s closer to the mid-upper 80’s.
Couldn’t tell you how many specifically, the thing is there are a good 150+ common to rare reqs that are emblems, and I have no idea how many are actually unlockable by req packs. By the time I closed out silvers I thought I had like 30 packs left to open but I started getting 1500rp cards. Don’t waste time with bronze, you only have a chance of a permanent unlock whereas silver guarantees 2 Iincluding Commons. However I skipped bronzes and there are 4-5 mongoose certs I don’t have even though I’ve closed out silver and gold (which I’m ok with because I dont want any of them)

Yup this is the hint that it is time to move on.
well I am 50 and on silvers I am not done with bronze but for some reason they dont give me permanants or req points even though I still have commons (weird) so I just moved to silver so I should be close!!!

I think it is a lot more than that.
if you buy packs correctly bronze for commons, silver for uncommon rare etc… you should be done in the high 70’s rank. It can go faster if you sell as many unused reqs as possible…
Until it refunds you some partial req points. look at your collection and count how many uncommon and rares you have. It will give you a rough estimate as some rare and uncommon reqs are unlocked from gold packs.
Well, i was at 90 Silvers left and it was going to cost about 400k+. So what i recommend is counting all, yes i mean ALL of your rare and uncommon items that you haven’t unlocked and whatever number that is divide by 2 and you’ll get the number of Req packs you have left.

nearly done certs because I checked still a lot of armour and emblems though
I did the math to find out exactly how many packs you would need to buy to complete the entire collection of RNG-based REQs. You really have two choices when buying silver packs: getting all the commons out of the way with bronze packs beforehand, or just buying all common-rare items in silver packs. If you want to do the first option, you will need to buy about 212 silver packs, or spend 1.06 million points to complete the entire collection of uncommon and rare items. If you want to do the second option, you will need about 266 silver packs before you move on to the good stuff (ultra-rare and legendary cards). I went with the bronze-to-silver progression myself.
Of course, these numbers are just approximations, since I made the assumption that each emblem you get in a pack will be accompanied by two other permanent unlocks.
I assume that you’ve already been buying silver packs and have made a lot of progress with your REQ collection. If you want to find out how many packs you have left to buy, you should count up all the commons/uncommons/rares you don’t have unlocked, and divide by 2.
