On the cover, it states it’s the best selling Halo game ever.
Um, what?

Yeah… no.

Usually those sales also include bundle packs that come with purchasing a console.
I think 343 meant that it was the fastest-selling Halo ever.
Think about it this way, according to the link:
Now, the problem is that all those claims use VGChartz as a source, and VGChartz isn’t too accurate. According to Microsoft and 343i, Halo 3 has sold 14.5 million units. As such, it’s probable that Microsoft’s claims are correct. In addition, if we were to assume that the VGChartz claims were correct, Halo 4 has still technically outsold it predicessor, as it has sold more units in it’s first year of release than Halo 3 did. In this regard, Microsoft is not lying when they say that Halo 4 is the “best selling Halo game”.

I heard that the 14.5 million number was a combination of halo 2 and halo CE at the time . http://www.nbcnews.com/id/20959454/ns/technology_and_science-games/t/why-all-hype-halo/ and http://money.cnn.com/2006/05/09/technology/e3_newtitles_reut/
Halo 4 sold nearly 10 million copies in its first year. Other Halo 4-related sales totals include the sales of the Limited Edition, Mountain Dew/Doritos promotions for Double XP, Limited Edition Consoles, posters, toys, collectors items, etc. I would say Halo 4 is most definitely the best selling Halo game in history.

I’d be perfectly fine with it if they said on the cover “Fastest selling Halo title”, but until then, I’ll be steadfast in my opinion, and wait until (or if) the phrase ever comes true (you know, without that little tacked on gimmicky bs).
and yet halo 4 is selling for 20 bucks now and it can barely hold 30k after not even a full year
Sorry but no H4 is a good game but it doesnt deserve GOTY
> Sorry but no H4 is a good game but it doesnt deserve GOTY
And obviously the gaming magazines disagree with you.
It’s funny that H4 is the fastest selling Halo game with the most copies yet it was the fastest failing Halo as well.
Halo 4 sold the most titles and is the most unpopular of the entire series.
Talk about ironic.

You will have to show me these gaming magazines that claim Halo 4 is the 2012 Game of the Year, because I don’t remember that ever happening.

Its called marketing, get over it. Companies do this all the time, they can put whatever they want on the packaging, because its not false advertisement. Companies lie to customers all the time, so its not that big of a deal. Also it may not be the best selling Halo of all time, but it is the “Fastest Selling”.
> Also it may not be the best selling Halo of all time, but it is the “Fastest Selling”.
Which can definitely be interpreted as “best selling”…
> It’s funny that H4 is the fastest selling Halo game with the most copies yet it was the fastest failing Halo as well.
I was just going to say that. I have never seen a Halo title drop so far and so fast for multiplayer population. They lost almost half the population (410,000 to 200,000) in 7 days. H4 is nearly below Halo Reach’s daily maximum now.
Makes one wonder how H5 is going to fair. I sure won’t make the mistake of pre-ordering the limited edition version or any version for that matter until it’s out and I read user reviews of how it plays a month or so after the hype wares off. 343 will have prove that they can create a playable game before I plunk down another dollar on a 343 title.

Some reason people are using a font colour for their entire post, mostly green to say they’re clearly right with their no evidence and swag. I’m going to use red to portray that I’m evil and that my post’s are clearly fake and are based on no evidence.
So, it’s likely that Halo 4 is the best seller. Still with me here, ladies? Though if I can remember, in the UK, it took Halo 3 (no pun) 3 years to drop from it’s launch price of £40 ($60$) which if I look now, 10 months after release, I see the game price at: £23 (Amazon) $29 (Gamestop) which is pretty significant. We must also take into account that the XB360 is of course, 8? 9 years old? so of course the game price will drop more significantly from then than now. People buy cheap games, who buys for the quality anymore? #punonHalo4 so of course, Halo 4 is the best seller, but of course, not the best Halo
Halo 3 got a game of the decade edition. I don’t see that slogan on the Halo 4 case.
Oh. I better inb4 this before they arrive to bend me over and tinkle my post with their hate and commotion. Enjoy.

So because I’ve decided to make my post color green, means I think I know it all, and I have swag? You specifically call me out based on the color of my post? (Seeing as there are no other colored posts). That is considered flaming other Forum members, and can actually be considered racism and stereotyping, because you assume I follow exactly what you say based on the color of my text.
