thanks for the idea but donât have a hardrive. also disc is not damaged checked it last night it is really clean no scratches or marks. also i checked the middle rim of the disc where the laser reads the game no scratches or marks there either. do ya think it might be something to do with that chapter? maybe it has created a glitch in my system or something like that?

I donât think so, at least, Iâve never heard of that happening.
Did it restart the game entirely? Like back to the first lobby and whatnot? If it just backed you out to the regular War games or Infinity lobby, you probably just lagged out of the game both times.
If not, then I donât really have any idea⌠Sorry.
EDIT: You mention not having a hardrive, is it possibly whatever you use to store your game data is out of memory perhaps?
hey thanks for the ideas well i explain what happened when it tries to load up a war games match it restarts the game all the way back to the intro bit that says Microsoft studios. ya know that bit when ya very first load up? also did not lag out me and my buddy tried it like ten times last night. and device it is stored on has 2GB on it still do ya think it could of created some kind of glitch? maybe if i went back and completed that chapterâŚ

Probably worth clearing you cache. Its under system settings on the dashboard. No idea if that will help but only one way to find out.
EDIT: no need to post this twice with different titlesâŚ
i have one question what the hell is a cache???
The system cache. I am no expert with it, but I think, itâs the place on your hard drive/memory stick where system stuff getâs stored, data like xbox dashboard updates, the game updates and so on.
[ FOLLOW FRANCISCOXBOXERâS GUIDE ]
I think itâs a problem with your memory-stick, itâs too small to save everything. WHEN it is this problem, I would suggest buy a bigger one. Any USB-stick with 6+ GB should be okay.
To delete the cache:
Go to Dashboard> Settings> System settings> Storage.
There you will see a list of sotrage devices. Select the Hard Drive from the list with the Y (Yellow) Button (NOT the A Button).
You should now see the option to âClear Systemâs cache.â
You try that and see if it works, but Iâm not sure if 4GB are enough to play Halo 4 (installing the Disc 2 is already a lot of space). I would recommend buying a bigger HDD or using any USB (of up to 32gb) as Hard Drive, following these guidelines.
(Please note you will loose everything stored in the USB when formatting it for use with the console.)
I use a 16 gig USB. I have 2 gigs left, but thatâs because I downloaded Fable III. Otherwise, I had 8 gigs left from various DLC, saves, and updates.
Once you have everything installed and a profile saved I doubt much (if any) HD space is needed to play the game. Certainly 2GB of free space should be ample.
Just checked, the Disc 2 and Spartan Ops Season 1.0 require 3.45GB in total.
> Just checked, the Disc 2 and Spartan Ops Season 1.0 require 3.45GB in total.
Halo 4 Disk, 7.3 GB
War Games (Disk 2), 2.0 GB
Spartan Ops Season 1, 1.5 GB
Spartan Ops Season 1.5, 2.3 GB
Crimson Map Pack, 529 MB
Majestic Map Pack, 439 MB
Castle Map Pack, 481 MB
Total ~14.5 GB.if my math is correct
Buy a 16 GB stick

To be playing Spartan ops at all he must surely have everything installed already though, heâs played 9 episodes of it already. And now war games isnât working, sounds very much cache related to me.
Still, flash drives are ridiculously cheap so if clearing your cache does nothing, buy a 16GB stickâŚ
I had a similar problem. It was actually my 360âs disc drive going bad. I had problems with any disc from time to time, but Halo 4 had the most problems. My 360 was out of warranty, so I had to get a new one.
thanks guy i guess ya real friends are ya spartan allies
anyway you are telling me to get a 16GB flash drive and i already do and i have downloaded every thing as well war games map pass spartan ops 1.5 so on so if i have gathered this correctly what you are saying is guys that if the cache is full and got too much stuff on it it could be stopping from playing some of the game? hence why it keeps restarting it because of not enough memory? ok then so what happens if i delete the cache will it get rid of everything that i have got on my stick? but if i didnât have enough memory surely it would of started doing this when i first downloaded everything? why now? this stuff has been on the stick for at least 2 months. or does it take some time for this to happen? also it is not my disc tray because it is a brand new xbox got it 3 months ago.
live on halo Spartans never die âŚ

just to add tried campaign last night that keeps restarting as well so do ya think it is cache?
The cache is temporal file used during downloads and updates, deleting it (as long as you follow my steps and select âHARD DRIVEâ with the Y BUTTON) wonât cause any data loss.
And what it seems is that the Hard Drive just doesnât have enough storage space. Disc 2 and the first 5 episodes of Spartan Ops are already 3.45 GB (and you stated you had only 4 GB).

Adding to that, some space on a hard drive/memory stick is required for system data, so you donât have the full 4 GB.
System settings use around 800MB from my USB-stick.

Its not that the cache is out of space, its that sometimes data in the cache can become corrupted. If you clear the cache then the correct data can be loaded in its place.
I have no idea if it actually is your cache, but certainly follow the instructions posted earlier to clear it, nothing can go wrong, you wonât lose anything.
Other things you could try would be deleting the installed game and DLC, then reinstalling/downloading it all.
If all that fails then it seems likely to be a hardware problem.
ok thanks guys will try that now i cant remember where i stated 4GB must of been a typo i have a 16gb stick so what do i do again go to memeory stick and press y which will then say clean cache ?

Think someone posted a link to the actual instructions. But I think on dashboard go to Settings->System Settings and then itâll say Y (or X) to clear cache.
