I was asking for optional full auto, because some people want 100% control on when a bullet is fired. So therefore I didn’t ask for forced full-auto.
I do have a question of what do you do for other games with similar problems? Do they have solutions for this? Maybe 343 could look into those games, see what they do. Maybe for now you could map it to a button if you’re better with certain digits over others?
Well, in Halo 5 there wasn’t a single gun with such high rate of fire that wasn’t full auto. The Halo 5 magnum was perfect when it comes to rate of fire.
I played a few months CoD Cold War, but stopped a while back. There are weapons that fire as fast as the Sidekick, but in CoD you need to fire max 2 bullets, so that wasn’t causing any problems. With Halo’s long time to kill, the spamming of the Sidekick is a problem for me. Spamming 2 bullets is doable, but spamming 7+ is problematic. Also, CoD works with loadouts, so even if it was a problem, I could’ve just not equip those weapons.
Destiny 2 works with loadouts. So if weapons have a high rate of fire that aren’t full auto, I just don’t use them. There are certain sidearms in the game that can roll a full-auto “perk”. I just use those and whenever a weapon drops that doesn’t have that roll, I just delete it. And last month Bungie added the full auto “mod” to the game. So every single person can choose to equip full auto to their weapons. Other people prefer extra aim assist, a bigger mag or extra in air accuracy over full-auto, so they equip a different mod.
Look, the only reason I made this post is because the Sidekick is a starting weapon. So I pretty much have to use it. If it was a pickup weapon I wouldn’t have made this post and just never picked up the weapon.
Thruster pack and Halo 5 Magnum should come back because my friend with a hand injury benifits greatly from the more fuild movement from Halo 5 and the slower paced shots from the Halo 5 Magnum
I wouldn’t say you need to use the sidekick. I don’t and the AR is perfectly fine and if you’re ok with just firing a couple of times, just use the AR to take out shield then one tap the head with the sidekick. Or if you don’t mind ranked they don’t use the magnum and the BR is slower on the trigger for you. I do hope 343 makes a solution for your problem or you’re able to find one yourself. Best of luck with all this mate.
That’s the exact argument. You said you can’t complete with the speed of a mouse click. You can because the rate of fire has an upper limit, they couldspam that button a million times a second but the pistol would only fire at the maximum rate of fire.
But I already explained that I have RSI and can’t tap faster than roughly 260 rpm. And the Sidekick can fire 365 rpm.
Besides that, the finite firerate is not even the n=1 argument. It’s the “I don’t have a problem with it, therefore nobody can have a problem with it” argument.
Ok I see how me lumping that in one sentence comes across like that. It was meant as an example but yeah you put you could only fire at a slower rate already - I get ya.
I think my biggest point is where do we draw the line
the weapons have their unique traits, if they were all automatic, the traits disappear. Options in menus still make them disappear because everyone will have the easier option on.
if we catered for everyone’s medical complaints, they would literally move, lock on and fire themself when all the complaints have options and are switched on. There might even have to be an automatic t-bag option.
I feel you make things too big. As if I’m asking for every single weapon to become full-auto and get aimbot or something extreme like that. I get that weapons should have their unique trades, but I feel that starting weapons should work for everybody, regardless of their input device or certain injuries. 365 rpm is really f*****g fast. I honestly don’t get the decision by 343i to make such a high rate of fire weapon that isn’t full auto a starting weapon.
It’s not that I want the weapon to be full auto per ce. I just think that’s the easiest solution. I actually prefer the sidekick to have a lower rate of fire and become a 4, 5 or 6 shot kill instead of a 7 shot kill. Or just AR + BR starts in quickplay and BTB and the Sidekick to become a pickup weapon.
I wouldn’t even have made this post if the Sidekick was a pickup weapon. Then I would just never pick it up. But because it’s a starting weapon I feel it has to function for everybody.
